My mate has got one of these out in Dubai, does the daily commute up to Abu Dhabi in it. Nice engine, his also has high milage, however the wear on the interior is pretty shocking and it doesn't seem to be particularly well screwed together. Oh and petrol is dirt cheap in the UAE, I'd probably be bankrupt if I were doing similar milages in one.

Picked mine up on the 5th this month & love it. It is a very thirsty beast but as mentioned earlier, if you want good economy, don't buy a V6 sports/GT car.
& I know it's more exspensive but I do, quite sadly, like being able to justify using high octane super unleaded shell petrol biggrin

Really not doing anything for me, the height of the lardy sports car. Fingers crossed for lighter cars on the horizon.
Just wait until 2008 when the new, lighter-than-350Z 370Z comes out.
That was lighter by about the weight of that boot cross-brace wasn't it? A real nimble little minx..

The perfect car for me - if only I lived in the UK. Commute by Motorbike so don't need to worry about fuel, nor adding much to that mileage. Only $5,652.14 (@ 1 GBP = 1.5072 AUD, ozforex.com.au 24.01.2013)
AUD to have something interesting and fun for day or weekend trips and such with the girlfriend, which usually take some interesting roads. That's a bargain. To put that in perspective, here that money will get you into a similar vintage Hyundai Getz, and not a well looked after one. You lucky sods.

PS perfect colour as well.

Ali.

That's good value for money.

An ex-colleague had a 350z, then got the 370z as soon as it came out.

I think, and he agreed, that the 350z sounded beefier than the 370z, and felt more 'mechanical' as well.

It is a proper driver's car.

And high mileage?! PAH. That's nothing, and those engines should be good for atleast 300k if properly maintained and looked after...

Hmmm that is some serious mileage on a car of that type!

Always loved the look of them, even down to the "fridge-style"-door grips. If I'd get one I'd get one in that colour as well. lick

Well that's thrown me! A 944S2/968 or this blue 350z is quite a choice for under £4k.
So is it 1990's or 2000's the road fund tax a lot less for the 90's so advice requested please, as insurance is neutral.Which route would you go?

Pah, it's not even been to the moon, let alone back. Average distance to the moon is approx. 240,000 miles, so nearly 60k short on its way there. nerd
Exaclty that! My 530d is 300 miles short of cracking 250k, and it still feels as tight as a drum.

That Nissan seems to have been well looked after.

My belief is, and always has been, you're better of buying a well maintained high mileage car, than a low mileage one that has been neglected.

Also, alot of major components will have been replaced and common fail points adressed by that mileage.

Really p1sses me off how people start acting all wary when you mention a car that's done over 100k miles - they think it's a total no no. When, alot of cars are actually running in at the mileage!

Why? so long as it keeps prices low for cars over 100k miles i'm happy. If i am buying privately i start looking at a ton or above for that very reason!

great call, has been popping up in threads a lot recently about the cracking value these cars represent, rivals the E36 M3 for 'performance bargain of the moment'
Had my eye on one as replacement for the 330 sport for a few months now, nearly ready to go for it.

My Neighbour is on his second RX8 231, current one is on a 55 plate with 70k miles, cost him £2750, pre tax rise so £260 tax and its sweet as a nut.

Not sure i would be as brave as him, but its a nice motor for the money if you do small miles.

I agree it's good it keeps the prices down for the likes of us who don't mond the higher mileage cars.

I was trying to get at the fact they don't have any faith in cars with higher mileages and believe they will go wrong, break down, etc, just because they have higher mileage. That's not always the case.....
