In true PH style, I did want to. So as a direct result of the article, I am now the proud owner or an Ultra Yellow GT4 Zed. Leggy, but with plenty of history, single owner and a bag of character. I'm really looking forward to my trip to West Wales this weekend.... So flash if you see me. I'll be the one with the massive grin.
I don't suppose you followed a blue Z out of Weston last Sunday afternoon (27th) did you?!

I don't suppose you were playing with a blue M5 a few weeks back heading towards Trowbridge from Chippenham?

Well the Capri was sold in the US and never deemed a muscle car. The Piranha V8's are boarderline, but more Pony than Muscle car.

As a rule it's a given that a muscle car has more than 2 seats. Most Amercian's won't consider a Vette or Viper a muscle car for instance.

Well if it helps I was living in Weston when I bought my 350 back in 2005, hard to believe (looking at the cars) that was nearly 10 years ago!

Nope never, why would anyone? Totally different cars, different prices, different performance, aimed at different markets and sold decades apart. Just totally different cars, which is why nobody in the past 10 years has ever thought of comparing to each other....

Really? 1 post and with the subject matter, we're not immediately picking this guy out to be a troll?

By the way, in the start of this thread there's a quote of the 350z 'struggling' to crack 25mpg. Well I get 29 regularly thanks, and have had up to 36 on a run up to Yorkshire. In fact, I only pay a small amount more in fuel than a friend of mine does in his old 206. The car has so much torque it just doesn't need to be worked hard and decent mpg is avaiable, as is the thunderous noise on acceleration when you want it!

Bit harsh.

Anyway, mine would just about do 24 MPG on the drive to work and back, but that was real granny driving. Mine would only just do 30 MPG on a steady 70 mph run on cruise. Mine was a convertible though, I'd expect the coupe to maybe be slightly better. However, it would have been less painful had it not needed super unleaded.

As for the S2000, I did consider one, but as much as I enjoyed my DC2, I'm not sure I want a car that peaky on the road again.

Cheers for the troll comment, Si_man...!

...and I thought this might be a friendly forum. Yes I'm new, but troll I am not. I was simply trying to weigh up which one to buy for the summer (yes, a drop top 350Z vs S2000, didn't think they were too dissimilar?). I have an 05 Honda Civic EP2 and was looking to upgrade, armed with some advice from more experienced/opinionated car owners. I simply linked from the "Nismo is not a performance brand" article, and thought I might get involved.

That said, I have heard the same thing about the S2000, Tame, and last time I test drove a brand new '05 350Z it felt absolutely solid on the rear/.

I have owned my 350z GT pack for 11 years now and never had a car so long. It has been the best fun and has never let me down. Needs gas struts, which is how I found this page. I know it is an old thread but I just wanted to say Top Gear did a comparison with the S2000 and it beat the z on the track. But I would like another Z. I get 36 mpg motorway driving but average 22 most of the time. I can't count the number of times, like now, that my OH has had to use my car because his 3 range rovers are all off the road with problems. Mine is always there, ready to roll.
