Looks great without the standard spoiler, and with the smaller wheels.

I'd take mine in pure gloss white, and fit myself some 8x15" minilites, and a set of Ohlins.

I found the GT86/BRZ a little over-hyped, but even I like this effort. I guess it gets better the simpler it gets. UK spec versions just looks so chintzy.

Because, having had it EU-approved(?), very few people would buy it because the no frills version is very basic, doesn't have an "aspirational image" and modifying isn't encouraged/easily-insurable anymore (hence unpopular)?

As a fan of steel wheels and functional cars without baubles, I like it. I'd enjoy the non-aspirational image.

I'd really like to have one. Fit some additional lighting to the front, some suitably grippy, but good in all-weathers tyres and it would be a great back-roads, DIY-rally car, driven as the makers intended.

I wonder if there is a good bike carrying solution for it? Having said that, it would probably fit a couple of bikes in the back anyway.

Like the looks of the STI.

RA will be a good base for modifying but I think you guys that like it on the steel wheels (that are meant to be replaced) are mental.

I realy love these, I love the idea of them, the looks, It's almost achievable to actually own one too!.

I wish I was rich though, I'd have 2. an RA for silly drifting nonsense and an STI for road nonsense. cool

This is just the Subaru car for the 86 / BRZ one make race series that was announced back in October isn't it? Here's the Toyota press release from the time:

I'll have the stripped one with STi bumpers please! Looks spot on. Less 'feminine' than the cars currently in the UK.

Done! I managed to get a downhill bike in the back of a GT86 press car relatively easily late last year. See pics. I'd have taken the back wheel off too if it wasn't such a bloody faff but I reckon a couple of XC bikes with quick release wheels and single-crown forks might just about fit inside if you took all the wheels off.

Cheers,

Dan

Begged/borrowed that one but, yes, it's a beaut. A big old beast though and not an easy one to fit inside a car given the wheelbase and length of the forks so I was impressed that the GT86 swallowed it. I've seen folk fit bikes in the back of Caymans too, FWIW.
