Even if they did find a legitimate 'window' to slot this shoot in i'm frankly amazed it got the go ahead. I'm assuming Lamborghini paid the equivalent landing tax of a 747 then for the privilege? Flight plans and airport scheduling at a major airport just conveniently have some time for lambo to use. What if one caught fire and damaged the runway, they must have friends in high places.
Granted i shouldn't use generalizations but in my personal experience thats how they come accross at least. Sorry just my personal opinion hence i think this photo shoot publicity stunt reflects that arrogance in the form of look what we can do. I dont mean to offend anyone just seemed a bullish tactic thats all.

Or was as confused as the rest of us as to the need for Lamborghini to prove this point.
Bit bitter due to no invitation? Since when did anything Lamborghini do need to have a point to it?
so, was the Lambo on time on arrival?
cos if not it's as rubbish as your average commercial flight.
ok, so it's probably more fun even if you're a bit late.
and a lot cheaper than buying a 737.
so quite practical, really.
therefore not a pointless test at all.
i think.
oh, ok, maybe it was a bit pointless.

All this publicity stuff is overplayed at this level - viral marketing will do the job just as well as closing an airport. I think the launch should be a quiet affair for a few cognoscenti. I'd suggest my garage would be a good place - with the car being left behind as it's easier than shipping it back to Sant'Agata
Something amiss here, Miami-Dade is a different airfield from Miami International! I know I used to take my Nimrods there and its a shared airfield with Homestead Air Force Base. Oh and my Nimrod would have given it a run for its money once the fuel load was calculated to give similar PTW ratios, and assuming the jet could stay on the ground at that speed. A similar test was done in the early 80s between a Nimrod aircraft and the then new Aston Martin Nimrod racer. The spoils were shared 1 all and on the 3rd race the jet had to take off, it couldnt stay on the ground any longer. Some car mags covered it at the time down at St Mawgan in Cornwall. Happy Days
Harmless enough stunt. Was not a Aventador/Reventon initially, but its growing on me now. Prefer the hardtop, non-roadsters
