What else would they be attached to?

Sorry I should clarify myself. The strut tops are at the end of a long horizontal tube which is going to be subject to quite significant bending forces, probably stressing the weld. I was wondering if the they should also be joined to the top of the hoop to form a triangle and transmit the suspension loads more effectively.
