The helmet driving a celica gt4, going by the royal highland centre today undertook our van in heavy traffic missing our front by about half a car then done the same again forcing the van in front of us into an emergency stop.

No doubt would have been a dangerous driving charge had the old bill spotted him.
Just move left then these bellends just over take normally and everyone wins.

The fat woman in a fiat 500 who overtook a 12 car funeral procession, on the wrong side of the road. In eldwick. Bingley today.

Fookin unbelievable.
I watched a dhead in a FFRR do exactly the same on the A4114 today, just managing to pull back in before a truck with a caterpillar digger on the back wiped him out completely. Unbelievable is exactly the word.

A trio of Aberdeen's finest helmets this morning...

  • Firstly the guy in the red 3-series, YA12 CKV, you should either get to Specsavers or give up the beer on the cornflakes in the morning, as it would appear you are unable to read traffic signs or road markings. When you turn left at the Kingswells roundabout (towards town) from the middle lane, it's normally a good idea to use your indicator. And if you then intend to dawdle along the dual carriageway at 10mph under the posted limit (50), do it in the inside lane. That 50 limit (if you can actually read the repeater signs) is still in effect all the way past the Hazelhead crematorium, that explains why the traffic in front of you was disappearing into the distance. Also loved your burst of acceleration past the guy in the bike lane as you squeezed between him and the van waiting to turn right at the lights on Queen's Road. tcensoredt.
  • Nob number two is the mong in the blue Corsa heading down Carden Place, who pulled off a textbook manoeuvre from a Russian dashcam crash compilation by first braking and pulling into the kerb as if to stop, before sticking on the offside indicator and doing a U-turn across traffic. That person on the horn? Yeah, that was me you fud. Try using your mirrors next time.
I'm travelling in the direction of the Google car, Polo plum is where the white van is in Streetview. I'm turning right at the junction so have my indicator on, and the cocksocket decides he's too important to wait the few seconds for me to clear the junction. Utter ccensoredt!

Out in force today!

I sometimes wonder how it happens that so many people on here encounter nothing but dangerous driving day in day out. Maybe, just maybe, your driving is contributing to the situation. If you see someone who looks likely to drive like a douche, give them space or get past them quickly and let some other cry baby ranter get into an incident with them.

Typical Ph comment these days. Not sure if trolling.

If you don't see it then maybe you're part of the problem?

It's endemic in the world these that people seem to feel it's always someone else's fault, and not just driving related. They think they're the best driver in the world, everyone else is a and is ruining their driving experience. I do wonder sometimes when i see things like "and the just undertook me!" which signals MLM or at the very least just not being sufficient left. If someone is negatively impacted by another's actions, then it's entirely likely that they were in some way involved in an interaction, whether consciously or not. However as this is PH, nah everyone else not on PH is a - fking st driving wkers!!

Depends on where youre driving.

I can do miles all over the country happy as larry without seeing anything.

But case in point a month ago: I did 160 miles down the M1 with little or no problem, and once I went inside the M25 people were undertaking at 90, one car undertook and swung past a lorry changing lanes which caused it to swerve and the car outside it to brake before the undertaking car swooped through.

Im sure people in some areas could drive all day without seeing much poor driving, but come to a populated area like London and its the norm.

also happens in the section of the M1 after the M25 too! Basically inside the M25 everyone is a , is the conclusion smile

Approaching a small three-way roundabout yesterday, behind a white 14-plate diesel Golf who is indicating left and waiting for the traffic coming from his right to pass, as you do. Just as the last car from his right clears, a bellend on a noisy stty little moped with L plates comes flying down my right, gets alongside the Golf in front of me and then passes it and turns left across the front of the Golf as it is turning left.

(Bet you thought the white Golf was going to be the offender in this little tale. ;-))

A good idea perhaps but not compulsory by law; the roadmarkings give people in the middle lane the right to turn left without indication as long as they stay in their lane. Those on the inside lane are only allowed to turn left and stay in their lane so there should not be issue.

There have been a number of times that someone on the inside has nearly wiped me out when I'm turning left in the middle lane because they want to go straight on towards Cults. It's the same at the Haudigan when you're coming off North Anderson Drive onto Auchmill Road. I just put it down to Aberdonians being stuck in their ways wink

Is that part not 40mph limit nowadays, at least up the roundabout before it splits off to the lang stracht/Skene road? Not that I do 40 down there anyway, was perfectly fine as NSL...

Speaking of which (and back OT), I hear they're planning making that whole stretch (from Westhill to town) 40mph to 'avoid confusion'... confused why not just make it 30mph then?!!? rolleyes UTTER fkING KNOBS! smash

Does the Highway Code state anywhere that road markings give you the right, in any circumstances, to fail to indicate? That sounds like a dangerous assumption to me. Happy to stand corrected if you have evidence.

It's a 40mph limit just as you approach the roundabout, then goes back to 50 for the run towards lang stracht/Skene road - Skene road then continues as a 50 to its junction with Groats Road. Totally agree with the NSL point too...

Can't really see how the current setup causes confusion, must be the myopic bellends who can't read a speed limit sign along with umpteen repeater signs? wink

God I hate people that do that!

Had the same happen to me at the Haudigan with some bint in her Passat, who proceeded to slam on as I came around the outside of her, beep a lot and start angrily waving her arms...........

Whilst I carried on shaking my head at the near miss and see about 3 other cars go around said metal gesticulating woman who still thinks she's in the right.

A bolt gun would solve that issue wink

Along with drivers re-prioritising driving to number 1 task, instead of letting it languish below thinking about what to have for dinner, reading a map on the passenger seat, playing with a satnav or posting a status update on faecesbook. smash

no, he's right, people overtaking often position themselves far too wide, because they don't know how wide their bike is
That's done because it's safer. It gives you a better view of the queue your passing, keeps you out the blindspot (for longer at least) of the cars your overtaking & makes you more obvious to anything coming towards you.

Not moving over for traffic coming the other way isn't part of the safety system though.
