One single thing that makes you think "knob" Vol 2
Discussion
Picture this,my fellow Knob observers:
Busy high street, Saturday morning.Chavmobile, honks about six times, winds window down, loud music emits.Starts waving and shouting to mate on the opposite pavement. Then stops and proceeds to hold conversation with said mate.Lots of effing and blinding.Traffic queue starts to form.Conversation continues.Eventually honking from behind encourages vehicle to move on,reluctantly, I think.
I have seen this strange behaviour before. Not the full conversation maybe, but the triple/quadruple honk and wave and a shout to a pedestrian whom I'm sure they have spoken to very recently. They may even live in the same house, but cannot resist an annoying honk to attract attention. Is it insecurity?

Goodbye honk makes me want to kill, even at reasonable times of day, which it only sometimes is.
And it's normally the chavs at it too...I get the urge to kill whenever I hear it.
My mother used to have a "hello" honk when she arrived. I think she wanted us to all come rushing out of the front of the house to celebrate her miraculous appearance in our driveway. I trained her out of it by religiously ignoring her arrival whenever she did it, telling her it was ttttish and pointing out that it merely annoyed everybody from the dog on up.

Happens regularly around here, it's their god given right to do as they please and fk everyone else.Busy high street, Saturday morning.Chavmobile, honks about six times, winds window down, loud music emits.Starts waving and shouting to mate on the opposite pavement. Then stops and proceeds to hold conversation with said mate.Lots of effing and blinding.Traffic queue starts to form.Conversation continues.Eventually honking from behind encourages vehicle to move on,reluctantly, I think.

Silly old fart yesterday in the Zafira who I had the displeasure of being stuck behind for a solid half an hour yesterday! If I was a police officer I would have banned him instantly on the spot until he re-took his driving test.
- Was doing 20 in a 30 Zone
- Then 20-25 during both of the 40 Zones we went through
- Then during a BOTH NSL zones we went through did no more than 25
Admittedly during the 40 zones and NSL zones I'd moved out to the right checking to see if I could overtake - it wasn't safe so I didn't. However I was not driving up his bum and kept a good distance all this time.
Pulling up along side him at some traffic lights hilarity ensued when he wound down his window and insisted I was an "impatient maniac who shouldn't be allowed on the roads"
When I pointed out that it was actually him who should not be allowed on the roads, for not adjusting his speed accordingly during 40/NSL zones. To my amusement his (I assume Wife) was actually nodding along as if she agreed!
I'd like to say he sped off after the lights turned green, however he was so busy trying to "report me to the police" that he stalled….

The bellend blue poverty spec golf just before the A57 turn off on the A1 yesterday, who decided the three vehicles overtaking a caravan weren't going quick enough so he flew down the inside and chopped up the head vehicle (which happened to be me with my pregnant wife in the passenger seat watching in horror as the golf flew through a gap barely big enough to park in and nearly rear ended the van ahead of me. If you had crashed and survived I would have pulled you out of the car and beat you unconscious!
Old duffer in a Civic in Epsom today.
Dawdling up to a green light as if he was in the wrong lane and maybe wanted to turn right.
Being hooted by the Jazz or Yaris,I forget, behind him,he then pulls over to the left after clearing the lights
...........to finish his phonecall...Grrr.....I should have hooted at that point,my Fiat horn is really loud.

Conundrum: I was passenger in a friends car recently. At a roundabout(two lanes)he wanted to turn left.In the left lane(turn left and straight accross)was a lengthy queue and the right lane (turn right)was virtually empty. He took the right lane, went right round the roundabout, correctly indicating, and back to exit left.It certainly saved some time. But,was it strategic driving or Knobish?
He didn't cut anyone up or have to push in,in fact it was a smooth piece of driving. What do you think?

i've been known to do this on occasion. Not really moral, but not against any rules as such.He didn't cut anyone up or have to push in,in fact it was a smooth piece of driving. What do you think?

With a larger roundabout you're less likely to have people tracking you round to see what you're doing. They're just looking right to watch for a gap. With smaller ones there might only be a couple of cars on it at once so people might be expecting you to leave at a particular exit and be surprised when you don't.
