Range Rover driver, facing the wrong, lights on and appeared to be moving slightly towards a side road.
A car was waiting to exit the side road.

As I got to about 15-20ft away from matey in the RR he pulled the nose out slightly (as if to drive across my carriageway) and put the full beams on.

It's a cliche but I was blinded, and had to slow right down. God knows what he was thinking.

A poor manoeuvre by the bus driver.

However, why was the poor victim in that lane anyway? And then why did it not move to the left as soon as it became blindingly obvious the bus was not going to clear the lane? (The way was clear for this - see how long it took for the lorry to appear alongside).

The meeting of two knobs, methinks!

A lorry fairly quickly appears alongside in lane 1, my perhaps unfair distrust of lorry drivers to be paying attention means I may have done the same depending on other circumstances.

I wouldn't pass judgement so quickly, we don't know what junctions are coming up or what other traffic he might have been able to pass had bus wcensoredker not wcensoredked about.
Bus drivers are almost as bad as Taxi drivers.
Today I'm approaching a right turn I want to take, cars behind will have to wait for me, there's a gap for me in oncoming traffic but a bus is approaching and the cars in front of me are dawdling, am I going to make it? It'll be close.. indicator is on and I'm sure the bus driver has seen it... but does bus wcensored let me in? No. Even though he then starts indicating to pull into the bus stop that's literally just after my turn. Ccensoredt.
I took it anyway, perhaps making me a bit of a knob, as it's a tight entry (oo er) thanks to all the wcensoreds who park on both sides of the road right up to the junction so ideally should be taken more cautiously, but as I'd earlier stopped to let 2 cars turn right (my left) and another exit same road I think I'm in positive karma over all angel

On the subject of letting people in and out, I know it's been done to death but I had another on saturday, I fcensoredking hate people who just sit there when you try to let them out, even though there's a bunch more people waiting behind them and a bunch of people behind you so it's going to be their only chance to pull out for about 10 minutes and you flash twice.. then have to stop completely because they haven't gone (and ok fair enough ffc wcensoredkers might have them scared) but you're at a dead stop and flash another 12million times and beep and flash some more and they still don't go. Wake the fcensoredk up!

Me. Had my high beams on and accidentally left them on as a couple of cars went past, noticed after they'd passed. None of them flashed to let me know, still 100% my fault. Felt a right clown.

Drove through the green lights for traffic already on the roundabout (as evidenced in this picture to the left) but stopped 20 yards later for the red light that was pointing to the M3 exit slip (to the right). No response to the hooting from me and others behind him/passing trying to shake him from his self-imposed pause mid-roundabout, until the exit slip lights went green, at which point 3 vehicles were still stuck behind him in the way of the traffic exiting the motorway.

How does he not understand how these junctions work? They're everywhere!
I'm not sure I understand but that light on the inside of the roun-about for the traffic joining the roundabout had me for a minute... it seems almost unnecessary.
It should probably have more obvious shielding on it to make it abundantly clear, but it's the equivalent repeater light to the one on the left, only this time for traffic joining, rather than traffic already on the road. A very high percentage of traffic light junctions have the repeater across on the other side of the junction, if not further back from the line. It's there because it's hard for the first in line to see the light which is right next to the line, once they've pulled up to the line itself (unless the person is in a cabrio or a truck hehe )

I'm no road designer but wouldn't it have been easier, cheaper and safer to have moved the stop line back a few metres?

That repeater is plain stupid.

I'm no road designer either, but it looks just like every other roundabout with traffic lights that I've ever seen, and it works the same way... I don't understand?

Edit - look at it from the perspective of the traffic exiting the M3 - it's bang in front of them. https://goo.gl/maps/DqWvv

So it's potentially misleading for both those on the roundabout and those enterng it from the M3

In Hunwick, County Durham, resident David Parry said a lorry caught on fire after sliding backwards down a hill.

"In trying to drive out of the position he had got stuck in, two tyres set on fire and the fire then spread to the truck itself," he said.

Just how long was he sat there spinning the wheels trying to get moving? Knob.

Drivers that beep at pedestrians who are crossing the road they are on, especially if the pedestrian was crossing before the car even turned onto the road. Same for drivers that don't bother to stop for someone in the road and beep and flash at them to "hurry up". Learn some respect for other peoples ffs!

On a related note: pedestrians who walk out onto the road without looking and then look gobsmacked when they see your car inches from their shins.

The horn is meant to alert others to a driver's presence. It's legitimate to sound your horn for that reason, and assuming it means "get the fk out the way" is not cool either.

At least the first bit is correct.

However, people should not cross the road, unless they can safely reach the other side 'without assuming' that somebody else will always make allowances for their lack of judgement.

No, the shouting at the windscreen and giving it the "coffee beans" is usually where it becomes clear. wink
