Your post made me chuckle out loud smile

If we get past the fact that 22 REGT is a Royal artillery outfit, do people REALLY still ask what colour the boathouse is?
I thought that ancient question lost any use or remaining humour when 'them' moved to Creden Hill smile
I'm glad I raised a chuckle. I used to serve with (a) 22Regt myself. 22 ("two-two") Engineer Regiment at Perham Down (Tidworth). Lots of lovely Chieftain Tanks there back then, so definitely NOT sneaky-beakies, and no boat house, neither wink

I hope you took my post in good spirit, that's how it was meant.
I think they are an LAD unit now aren't they?
I was chuckling as I could imagine you typing and then getting a phone call from the '80s asking for their boathouse question back smile
I guess I can cope with ''lovely Chieftan' but would suspect you'd been drinking Brasso if you had said 'lovely reliable Chieftans' smile
I liked them, but thought the choice of power pack probably had a lot to do with politics.

The ''80s? Ronin came out in '98.
And it's pronounced "hear-ford"

"Hear-Ford"? Sounds like Herford. From whence came Herforder Pils. And the "Herfy Handbag"...

We had Chieftains in Osnabrück, too. And a lot of love for Herforder Pils...

...now stop being a knob, and go fetch me a yellow handbag, there's a good fellow wink

Big Al.
