Fingers crossed - but none.

Original Vanos, original rings, clutch changed at 96k, with standard consumables changed e.g. Mafs, CPS, Lamda sensors.

Although did lose the rear windcreen one night going over the Severn Bridge!!! Dammed thing just got sucked straight off the car ...

Oh and a failed front passenger door actuator which cost a bit to sort as the leather door card had to be shredded to get the door open.

230k on a 2005 diesel laguna - yes, beleive it!
the word is its a friday car, whereby they forgot to put the faults in...

usual consumables, plus new clutch, new handbrake motor and x1 remap session is all its cost. oh, and practically 100% depreciation!

will get a thread up soon.

230,000-odd miles on my 944 Turbo. Id prefer that it read 30,000 miles though, despite what many wallys will tell you about higher mileage cars being better, which they arent.

Except that the design life for modern cars is 300,000 miles in most cases.
Drivetrain I can believe, but the rest of it? A few years ago it was suggested to me that Ford aimed for ~120k with their six sigma processes.

Most cars these days will reach 250~300K with ease...
Do you have,

  • A. Season ticket at the MG Rover head gasket shop?
or

  • B. Season ticket at the Mazda RX-8 engine shop?

There needs to be a 300,000mile+ club (which imo is much more rare).

+1

A 200,000 mile car doesn't impress me at all!

I've seen a 489,000 mile Scirocco and a 700,000 mile Mercedes Sprinter. They both impressed!

There's a W124 300d on YouTube with 1,400,000kms. Again, impressive.

My old Coupe. All I ever did in 3 years was bottom suspension arms, track rod ends, clutch, thermostat, tyres and discs & pads. It looks a lot written down like that but when you consider I did all the work myself and the car cost me nothing, I think it did pretty well!

The Beemer is on circa 196k, will reach 200 in the next few months easily. Miles don't scare me! biggrin

From my car history.... Think the higher mileage ones were:

1992 Vauxhall Carlton - Purchased at 164k and sold on at 208k
1996 Volvo 850 T5 - Purchased at 112k and sold at a very knackered 230k
1998 Toyota Avensis - Acquired following a flippant remark at MOT passing at 217k, scrapped at 228k

The E39 TDS is heading for 160k and keeps going wrong, that's going soon.
The GTV... err, well it reset after a pressure wash underneath from 70k to zero... it'll never get there now(!)

...and the Yeti, no chance, although Mrs SWH has somehow put 800mi on it over the past couple of weeks.
