I'm going to get blasted for not having a posting history on this forum, but I really don't care.

I too was a 'Runner Up' - and I also never win anything normally.

I went ahead with it - paid the £199 and waited for the 'pack' they promised would arrive in the post in the next day or two. I actually had to chase it up a few times before it arrived and in the meantime I googled Supercar Lifestyle and found this thread. When I found out that it seemed like hundreds of people had been sent the same email saying they were runners up, I got quite angry and almost cancelled.

I went ahead with it though and am very glad I did.

I spent a full day with Ian Ashley learning how to trail brake, and f**king loved every minute of it. I was put with another guy who was a regular customer and we took it in turns to rag an E46 M3 around what at first seemed like a fairly simple course.

I've done a similar day with a less experienced instructor using my own car and that was ~£120 more expensive, so all-in-all this was really good value and if there was any aspect of my driving I wanted to improve I'd book another day with this same instructor. SL also do 'experience' days which I'd personally avoid.

I'm only posting this because the previous 15 pages of this thread is a bit unfair and I almost cancelled the day because of it. Someone likened this thread to a mother's meeting - and I think that is pretty accurate.

PS. Mark Corrigan is real - unless fictional characters are able to weave through traffic in a white skyline at high speed on the M42.

How does any of your experience justify dubious business practices?

Prior to my experience I would have described it as you have - a dubious business practice.

I think a more accurate description would be it was a naive and poorly judged PR disaster.

I too am a WINNER!

I have many problems with this company, basically all of the above but the main thing is ironically they claim to of made a mistake yet their customer service is so poor I doubt it was a mistake.

Has anyone here got any access to legal knowledge? As this is just the sort of thing (I suspect) which leads to those ruddy PPI calls etc.

If not then I think I'll approach a couple of firms to see what the deal is.

How do we do that then, presuming we do not use our watch list as a main viewing list?

I generally go in to "My Stuff", see whats still being spoken about. If there's asubject I no longer want to see updates on, click on the 'x' and its removed.

Ah, I suspect you're asking if it can be ignored in GG etc. I don't know if that can be done, sorry.

MY first post on this forum BUT after finding this VERY entertaining thread had to give you all an update…..

I have just returned from a weekend Track day experience with SUPERCAR LIFESTYLE RESORT (SLR) – not to bore you all too much – IT is the same company you have had a BAD experience with and they are doing exactly the same again but rebranded with RESORT and relocated to GRANADA SPAIN.

They promise on their website – A Half day track day with choice of supercar, hunting, fishing and 4x4 experience in an exclusive luxury resort – They started a £2k per man and settled for £500!! – What a great negotiator I am…..

What you get is poor communication ahead of the trip (unlike when they are trying to get your money) and then it goes rapidly downhill…. Hotel changed to Spain’s answer to Fawlty Towers at the last minute, NO hunting, fishing or 4x4 either – what a surprise…..

As for the track day, 2 guy’s turned up in an OLD M3 only to advise the half day is now 1 hr (between 8 of us!!) squeezed in to a lunch break of someone else who has booked the track…. Amazingly unlucky!!! – and there is only one car – a Ferrari – that wasn’t so super!

When we pushed for names, contact details and email address’ no one knew anything but an 0845 number and a woman called Christine (funnily they don’t answer!)

Even the Track owner – Clive Greenhaigh @ Gaudix Track, Spain – wasn’t interested and basically walked away without a care – nothing like taking care of 8 stranded Brit track enthusiasts (I thought he deserved a special mention!) Supposedly SLR are his biggest customer block booking the track for 6 months of the year (May onwards – funny they booked us for April!) – again good old clive had no contact details or helpful advice to recover the situation…..

DON’T BOOK with Supercar Lifestyle Resorts

DO spread the new news…….

Thanks and the only positive is I have found this great site!!!!!

Thanks....

For clarification are you saying that between 8 of you you paid £4000 for 7 minutes each in an old Ferrari and that was it?

Crikey. I hope he negotiated his money back never mind just knocking them down to £500.

I had a look at their slick website, despite pages of offers, details and packages it doesn't ever mention a single make or model of car just "Your choice of supercar" and it doesn't show any pictures of clients in cars either, not one.

If no one answers the telephone how are they taking bookings?

Keep us posted Vindal and Caveat Emptor everyone else.....

It was a cold call that started a 2 week negotiation - they must have caller ID or ESP because they used to answer whenever I called!!

I paid by credit card so going that route BUT after finding this thread I didn't want anyone else to lose out!!

Also noticed they have a media event with Tiff Needell on 22/5/14!! Should be interesting!!!!

Anyone know Tiff and can give him a heads up?!
