I'm almost certain this is the guy who gave me 20 mins tuition at Silverstone a couple of years ago (in my own car) and if so he was awful......had no way of explaining what he meant, didnt like it if i pulled over to let faster cars go buy and at one point grabbed the wheel from me (a complete no no in my book at any point!) and tried to steer me into an Elise and didn't appreciate my expletive - I pulled in that lap.......truly dreadful.....

I'm also a 'runner-up' (I think they told me there was only 20!) and it's pretty shoddy to slip in the £199 insurance charge. Presumably if they are genuinely giving the day away for free, if you could get the cover from else they'd still have to honour it - I imagine that would be very tricky though. As it is I'm pretty reluctant to go ahead - the whole thing leaves a bad taste
It isnt a day though, they said "4-5 hours".

If you read various posts about this company elsewhere, phrases like "standing round for hours" and "promised passenger laps didnt happen", and "options to pay for more time, or different activities".

Note also you are sharing the car with 3 other people, so removing the hour hard sell for briefing, you are paying £199 for about an hour in the car at most (and likely less).

in the itinerary they send out they said that practical sessions will 'consist of fifteen minute intervals' so I'm guessing 30-45 mins in total max. I guess with 3 people most of it will be demonstrations. I've just noticed the title of this doc is 'interary' - it's starting to seem a bit cowboy

Metcalfe should be tearing whoever is responsible for this a new cornhole.

Disgraceful.

I'm sure he will be. For those thinking about putting £200 into this, don't do it - you will have a better time at MB world where you will genuinely get 55 minutes of seat time in your hour experience.

If you want a full day of track driving (for a lot more money, it has to be said), look in the track days forum subsection.
There's a palmersports offer for PH running.

Go look at the thread over there (Track Days Forum) -- http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&amp...
I'd like to post all the details here and stuff to be helpful, but I don't want to break the crossposting rules.

I can confirm the Palmersport day is the best petrol-head day out by a long chalk. Super slick, LOADS of time driving, and lots of experienced instructors helping you to push the cars to the limit (and your limit).

I also 'won' a runner up prize, so please add me to the list. I think that makes me number 3278!!!

I was genuinely really excited until my wife put a message up on FB to which a mate responded with a link to this thread!

I am seriously disappointed, as a long term subscriber of EVO I expect more from them!

I'm also very tempted to contact Watchdog. That program has a tendency to achieve results on scams like these where others fail!

Edo, just for the record you can create a numbered list like this:
  1. First
  2. Second
  3. Third
  4. Fourth
  5. You get the gist
(have a look at the bbcode. You just need the line to start with a # for it to start a numbered list)

Apologies in advance if you already knew this.
