Anyone else enter the Evo comp to win some track tuition?

I seem to have won a runners up prize!

A FREE TUITION SESSION WITH EX F1 DRIVER IAN ASHLEY AND THE TEAM

As a runner up you will be coached on how to drive like a professional racing driver, starting off in BMW M3’s Ian and the team will coach both through practical and theory sessions the art of racing. This unique and exclusive session will give you an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to be in the shoes of Hamilton and Button and experience the high octane thrills of professional race drivers.

The session will include:

All vehicles
Safety briefing
Familiarisation laps
Safety equipment
Professional Instruction
Fuel
Track Time
Tea / Coffee and light refreshments
The session will run from MIRA’s secret Test facility in Nuneaton. This is where the likes of Jason Plato touring car champion and McLaren British GT3 team do there testing before their race seasons. This state of the art facility is also home to major manufactures such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley and the MOD where all prototype vehicles are tested and certified.

I once won a Bowler Wildcat driving experience but nobody ever got back to me about it. Still chasing it up now...

Well done. One of my mates (a PH'er) has won the seemingly the same prize. Hmmm - I wonder how many runners up/winners there were...
Edited to add that he reckons he's a runner up too

I'm one of the many who's also received this runners up prize. Not sure a what to make of it. Evo forum is saying that there's a £199 damage waiver fee, and the day is spent in the car with three others, and they were cagey with how much wheel time you actually get for your (£199) prize...

Might sign up and see what happens.

Piss take. So it is free, but £199 for the insurance.

I'm sure they have covered themselves, but this seems incredibly like it must break some prize rules or something? Congrats you are ALL runners up, for a prize; please pay £199 to collect it.

Scammier than a Nigerian lotto payout.

Ouch.

FWIW, the dry and wet handling tracks you'd have been shoved on at MIRA aren't the best tracks in the world. Very narrow and short.

I've just emailed asking for clarification on the cost of the "prize".

3 to a car, for something you can normally for for £89 an hour. So they net £600 for one car and instructor for an afternoon....
