I can't keep up with this language any more. Clearly I'm not "down with the kids" enough. So pulling a stupid face that isn't quite full-on gurning, is called Belming?
You don't have to be "down with the kids" to know what a Joey Deacon face looks like, you just have had to have watched Blue Peter in the seventies.

Looks like it's been given the once over by Halfords.

What brand new car for the same money is faster?

RWD, front engined, 6 cylinder.. sub £40k.. M135i. Autocar figured it to 60 in 4.6 seconds and you should have the best part of £10k as change

M135i undoubtedly meets the rear drive and quicker requirement, but it's cheap for a reason - that reason being that it's an ugly 18 grand hatchback with a big engine stuffed in it. Not sure I could get past that, to be honest.

Huh? Hasn't there been a Nismo 370Z for years now? Seen a number of them on U.S roads. Or is it that it's just now getting to the U.K. market?

If stats are your bag then bare in mind that the 0-60 times quoted in this article are incorrect. They are actually 0-62 times and that the m135i manages the said times with a fantastic lightning speed auto box, which DOESN'T mean it's cheating, but I still maintain I'll bet they're (standard 370z and m135i) very similar in a straight line manual to manual.

Like the 370z Nismo. Just seems to sharpen the lines up a bit. Nice

Had to look up Belming (thought it was a prison)
Also like Urbandictionary.com.

+1, maybe it's just me but firstly I don't like the Nissan 370Z for a number of reasons having driven one and really not enjoyed it - so that's a non-starter.

This just screams "boy racer". If that's what you're after then fine, personally I like something a little more subtle. There are cars for a similar price which are just as fast, and can do it in a bit more style.

Maybe I was being brash with the "too slow" statement - I can take that back, it is quick - but at what cost?

Could you ever turn up to a business meeting in this?? or go out for dinner at a fancy restaurant?? would your girlfriend ever sit in the car with you/forgive you for buying it/break up with you??

If you want a car purely for the track, maybe this is an option, but again I think there are better alternatives. Nismo are putting in alot of effort, for not a great deal of gain.

  1. From my experience with the 350z, I`d say it's plenty comfortable.
  2. image? Really? What do you suggest? An A3 "s-line"? rofl
  3. I've lived with less practical cars, this isn't mumsnet you know.
  4. business meeting? Fancy restaurant? I really can't see why not. Much rather in this than in the eleventeenth Cayenne parked there.
  5. if my girlfriend is offended by a badge, I'd rather have her break up with me than force me into a mini or a new beetle.
Your main concern with this car seems to stem from what you think others will think of you, and I really feel sorry for people who have their choice of car, or anything else for that matter, guided by the perceived opinions of others.

I'm liking it mostly but there's a few crap notes...

"It gets the GTR's hoses and fluid" - isn't that a bit like saying "my girlfriends ankles look like Beyonce's"?

They're hoses and fluid FFS, nice to have but not exactly a massive selling point surely!?
Perhaps worse. Was speaking to a GTR owner just the other day who was bemoaning the cost of the fluid and looking for alternatives.
