RE: Porsche 911 turns 50

Went to autosport show and even though it was full of exotic machinery a carrera s on porche stand was the sports car which i would have picked over everything , just looked right but quality of interior was fantastic, they have i believe created perfection as an every day usable even reasonably economical super car i now want the latest version and in next couple of years will get one.
I had a 911 itch last year to the point that i looked at a couple of excellent examples (996's)but it turned out they were complete dogs so had a rethink, now looking for something else and starting to get bored of the 911 look as there are so many on the A3 corridor they seem to have lost that sparkle they used to have. And no I do not want a BMW M135i before someone posts it..........
Before everyone gets too hot under the collar about what's carried over from what to what, do bear in mind that there are always certain bits and bobs carried over from one model to another - but what is really fascinating is that there has only been three fully new 911s: The 1963 car, the 996 and the 991. Great pics chaps - Gary the 71st's classic gets my vote for best car/scene combination. (And before anyone says it then, yes, the 991 engine is a further developed M96, but the rest of the car is very new).
