Should be £35K to sell
Why aren't you all working for Alfa/Fiat as you seem to know more than they do....
How dare we have opinions about things we aren't directly involved in.

950kgs??!! Grow up! Absolute bks! At that weight there's no way it could compete with the Cayman's all round greatness - it'd be a toy and no-one would buy it. 1400kgs.
You prefer cars to be heavier then?

Was looking forward to this car and thought it might actually convince me to buy a new car, but at 50k I can think of a lot of other cars I would get, will have to wait until depreciation does it's work as I'm sure it will at 50k for an Alfa with the engine that looks like appears to have come straight from the Giulietta QV

If alfa make a 950kg car with the all round usability, comfort and refinement of a cayman, I'll suck my own penis.

As an enthusiast I think it's wonderful that this thing weighs just 950kg. But from a business point of view I'm not sure it makes sense. How many of people who will buy these things actually care?

For example if they built it out of regular steel and it weighed say 200kg more, 1150kg would still make for a fun/nimble car but if they could then sell it for £35k then they would sell more.

Are all (for example) 2 litre engines the same?

Or they could have built it with an Elise-alike extruded aluminium tub weighing maybe 15kg more than the CF one for 40k.

IMO using CF for this is a huge mistake.

A 250 hp per ton mid-engine carbon chassied low CoG and low polar moment of inertia car ?

How often have you driven a £50k new car like that ?

It's really easy to slag off manufacturers. People go on about them being boring and when they're not, they still get ridiculed by "experts"

I doubt it. Having an inline engine tends to move the CoG of this type of car up quite dramatically.

Dear Alfa,

Is it too much to ask that you design the front end of your cars with somewhere to put my registration plate?

Got fed up waiting for one of these and ended up with a Cayman R. The 4C will have to be some car to compete with that let alone the new Cayman.
I really, really hope it does...... but remain to be convinced. £50k plus for a 1.8 turbo four pot- it better handle and have a build quality that you wouldn't believe.
Good luck Alfa!

Lol.
What's so funny?
Probably reference to the 1.8T hairdryer that is powering it. Sonerous? 50K = need for a powertrain for a sportscar (multi cylinder?) and a proper soundtrack.

Not everyone suffers from "cylinder count snobbery". hehe

I think you'd be surprised at the number of Boxster customers who don't know how many cylinders their car has.

I think it is fantastic - I would happily sell the esprit for one of these. I do hope they keep the wacky interior too.
They won't keep the wacky interior, and now you can't mention it or be just like the rest... wink

I am not an expert, I am not slagging of a manufacturer. This is a forum, I have an opinion. smile

This is already overpriced. - Look another OPINION of mine.

As this is a performance car, there will be very many cars below its price that will be able to outperform it. I can't comment on how much fun it will be, or how good it will be around a track, and thus i havent.

Classic PH miss sell here; it would be nice to see actual pictures of a real car; renderings can be very different to an actual production car; lets have proper photographs, and some honesty about the information, not glorified cartoon images and rumours of specification!! Tsk...
