The 197 did have the perfohub. I believe it was revised for the 200..
The 197 may have had a form of perfohub but it wasn't until the 200 came along that the Clio got the pucker Megane perfohub. Either that or the 200 review I read before I got my 200 was telling lies!
If you read the Evo buyers guide then yes it was a load of rubbish, both 197 and 200 had perfo hubs.

Heh, will it also digest flying wildlife and small children?
Haha, imagine getting your head rammed right in that diamond opening.

Just spray the badge satin black for those bothered with its gargantuan proportions.

Can someone handy with photoshop do that to the badge, tint the front lenses (or make them smaller with some strategically placed tinted brows) and put on some TE37's. Thanks! smile

Just remove the whole thing, replace it with something that helps the engine breathe better. Although I don't know if its aesthetically an improvement.

I've got an original (phase 1) 172 and I love it. I'm currently looking for its replacement (for the Mrs) and we'd have considered this. I don't have an issue with the techie stuff on this, I understand why but as others have said, the looks are challenging to say the least and I'd therefore struggle to buy one.
That's probably quite shallow but we buy things based on look and feel.

I don't buy in this sector or particularly follow it as I'm a bit old now,and I'm not even a Renault fan,but something is making me think this car is going to be stonkingly, utterly brilliant, and move the game on significantly.

DAT BADGE

Seriously.. How big is that thing?

If it has a turbo, its air comes from the intercooler, not the outside ? Or am I talking out of my a$$?

Yes, you are talking out of your ass. smile

The air still comes from outside, then it's passed through the turbo (which heats the air up as it's compressed), then the intercooler.

From my point of view it's a car that I am going to have to see in the flesh and test drive before I can really give a solid opinion.

Until someone gives a report on how it drives I find it difficult to understand how there can be this much hatred for it based on the press shots?

If all the reports say it's a great car, best RS clio ever, are all of you who rushed to pass judgement suddenly going to change your mind? Are the looks (which you haven't seen in the flesh yet) so important to you that you would discount a great driver's car just because the photos make it look a tad ugly?

The comments about the looks are getting silly. Pretty much every car gets slated when it first comes out because it looks so unfamilliar. I remember when the Sierra came out and everyone hated it and called it a Jelly Mould etc. How many people on here wouldn't love to own a classic Sierra Cosworth now?

It looks fine and you will get used to it and eventually come to like it. It will also be the best hot hatch available. Its moving the game on. Plenty of humble pie is going to be eaten.

The pedestrian safe front is not to all tastes, but that aside and without seeing it in the flesh, I like it.

I like the giszmo's and gearbox with it's 5 door convenience and it's massively improved torque on a lighter car. I would say what's not to like, but i have read this thread, so it looks like i'm in the minority.

However, when your trying to be smug in your new Fiesta ST & are convincing yourself that it's the better car by far, you will still feel jealousy towards the Clio RS driver sitting next to you at the traffic lights. No?

Why do people keep saying its lighter? I thought the outgoing one was about 1,200 kg, and the new one is about 1,280 kg ?

With 3k change to spend on the inevitable factory backed mountune kit I doubt it...
