That Lorinser Cl is bloody awful. They have always managed to ruin Mercs, no matter what model. Shame Brabus is becoming more and more tacky but good to see Carlsson are still going strong.

Badge = utterly wk. Looks like a camp version of a Mustang logo. "Ooo, chase me, chase me!"

I'd rather have a Brabus Rocket, but if it was given to me, I wouldn't say no...

I think the M135i is the better bet here, 90% of the performance for a fraction of the price!!
Has anyone got the 'not sure if serious' gif handy?

I'd have the "standard" AMG, sorry.

With AMG producing such incredible in house models I wonder if there is any place for Carlsson, Brabus and the like.

They don't strike me as having a niche like Alpina do with BMW (more luxurious, easy performance vs the sporty Ms).

Both are named after the same rally driver, although the Mercedes tuner is Hartge's MB branch and not at all related to the Saab "Carlsson".

I drove the standard Cls 63 this morning, and what a car.

Must admit I would still go for the 700BHP car given the funds and the choice!

PH: "Meanwhile, there’s a 25mm wider front track..."

I know several ex brabus owners who know own AMGs, in the old days they added mental performance to a standard looking merc. One of those I know has an E63 estate - far more mental than his previous brabus, and I know the performance is 'enough' for a normal income chap.

Lotto winners are few and far between, I suspect the number of people prepared to go from 'standard' warrantied AMG to brabus or carlsson for a few hundred HP on top of a mental car has dwindled to near zero frown

Yep, definitely lotto winning territory for me unless my boss gives me a serious pay hike. smile

There's a good review of the Renntech equivalent on the drive channel on YouTube. Sounds epic!

When I first saw pics of the 2nd-gen CLS, I thought the design looked too fussy compared to the original. However, having now seen some on the road, I must say they look quite good in the metal. Much better than in any pictures I've seen. The AMGs, in particular, have lots of road presence.

This Carlsson version ticks all the right boxes for me. Lot's more power & torque, but mercifully, they left the body pretty much alone. I do agree with previous posters that the massive Carlsson badge would have to go, but I'd imagine it's only optional, anyway.

That Brabus Rocket, though, is absolutely awful! yuck Why anyone would have that over this is beyond comprehension.
