The old Morris traveller is the best car I never paid for. Restoration is in full swing atm! May well hit the forum with a picture thread when its done!

All this talk of small estates and no mini, I think I prefer the clubman shape but just like the original which I did own, the rear doors blocking rear vision would annoy me. Does anyone make a one piece door for the bmw mini?

So it looks like young kids like the 3-door hot hatches, old duffers like the practicality of the estate...

...which group is more likely to be able to afford a hot hatch?? ;-)
Clearly the born-again old duffers ! LOL The young kids won't be able to find any affordable insurance for a start.....

Reminds me of when I was a teenager and had a part-time job working at a bakery which was owned by a schoolfriend's dad; one day I was cleaning his dad's S-Type Jag (1960's variety) and he said to me: "The trouble with these cars is that when you're your age you can't afford them and when you're my age you're past it!"

Still so true today for most of us.....

My old man had an F plate Aerodeck in the mid nineties.

It was a brilliant car, didn't like mid corner bumps though. It took my brother driving it into a post to kill it.

I'd have one in a flash.

I'd love a BMW E46 M3 Touring.

You'd have to build your own though (they never made them): http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.326215047...

Always thought the Alfa 156 GTA wagon looked better than the saloon too. Neight are practical though laugh

Then again I'm 32 with the ST estate......
Well, at 32 you hardly qualify as a young kid, but still have a few years to look forward to old-dufferdom !

Coincidentally I was also 32 when I bought my first automotive plaything - an Alfa Romeo Giulia saloon - 28 years further down the road I still have a 1972 Giulia Super, it may not be an estate but has more practicality plus all the driving enjoyment of a CTV or GT Junior..... and I'm not quite ready to join the old duffers club yet !
