The long, cold and hard winter is the result of Global Warming. Global Warming is the result of driving fast on the Nurburgring*.
I'm no ecologist, but it ain't that simple i'm afraid...- thought process of a left wing tree hugger. Same thought applies should the winter be short, warm and wet.
Hi Dale,
Im starting work at the Ring this Friday coming but arriving wednesday. Im bringing my E36 325 coupe. Can you advise on the chances of actually making it to the track with winter tyres? Will the roads be clear enough or have i got no chance with RWD? I was hoping the snow would have cleared by now. cheers in advance. And you write ups have been a great help in preparing for 8 months living at the track. thanks

Hi there Dale,
A quick question kind of related.
Many moons ago on my first trip out we stayed at a hotel up at hohe-acht up on the junction up there. Just down over the edge were some ski lifts in a pretty sorry state.
Does the area do much skiing business or is that a thing of the past.
That sounds like the Berghotel, Hohe Acht. I don't recall the ski lift though.A quick question kind of related.

Those ski-lifts by the Berg Hotel were ripped down!
The trackday by www.jacos-paddock.co.uk never ran as there was ice under the snow or something, it was a shame!
Ross, the roads here are mostly clear, but you'll be fine if you have winter tyres. My E36 on winter tyres can still do a lot: http://youtu.be/ghJfIn1Uv0U

Is this just a 'filler'?
Very little information, of very little interest, including a very 'un-PH' Forester. diesel.
Disappointing....

It could be summarised thus;
"It snowed in Germany
The Nurburgring is closed.
Ive got a Subaru Forester to drive.
A diesel."
Just as interesting.
Just as factual.

Do not be so negative.
Still, for the rest of us, great article / photography. Thanks a lot. Hope that 9 and 10 May won't be affected by a backlog and still run as Tourist days as I am all booked in !
