There are plenty of cars that will give you more of a buzz. There is a Blackbird engined MK Indy in the classifieds for £8,500 that would have your brain wanting to leave via your ears and nose, even at 7/10ths.

But it would be a PITA to commute in during winter smile

Everything is a compromise. It just depends where you draw the line.

Loved mine and was thinking of getting another until I got my current car last year which is hundred times better. In this car when the back slips out I just laugh, in my s2k when the back slipped out it put the fear of god into me.

I did 70 laps of Oulton Park last week and never once found the S2k frightening on the limit. I don't know whether its wayward geo or dodgy tyres catching folk out but I was provoking it all the time and even when I pushed it a bit too far the car came back. Granted it was dry but mine is an early one with 16" wheels with average Toyo tyres.

I wouldn't want it as a daily driver but as a 2nd car it's perfect for summer and track work. I was lapping 5 seconds slower than my track accord type r but didn't car one iota as the S2k was ten times more fun. Out of every 2nd gear chicane or tight bend it was just boot it, tail out, apply corrective lock and away you go. Fantastic. So much fun and so satisfying. And when the fun is over, hood up and cruise home with it behaving itself good as gold (apart from having no rear brakes left!)

If you are considering an s2k do it. You won't regret it. Just make sure it's geo'd with good tyres and drive it with respect in the wet.

Here's a clip on board a ctr hunting me down at Oulton:
