Quite!

I thought I was the only one who hated the look of these 4 door "supercars". I was watching the Top Gear this morning in which they tested the Maser, the Porsche Pana and the AM Rapide around Farnborough Business Park. Only the Maser looked OK - the rest just looked out of proportion. They all look like they've just been pulled horizontally in order to shoehorn in two extra seats.

Yes please!

I love coachbuilt shooting brakes like this. I read that it was commissioned as a strict on-off for an Aston Martin collector.

I do wish I could ask a coachbuilder to produce a one-off design for a manufacturer that I like. Imagine the possibilities. There have, of couse, been unsuccessful iterations of this idea but this is definitely a success.

It looks absolutely lovely, though use of the word "Estate" does normally imply a useful amount of load space which I suspect may be lacking in this case. Perhaps they need to licence the "SportBack" name from Audi smile

It seems this car is getting quite the positive response. It looks great. Reminiscent of the 456GT Venice Estate in terms of elegance of line. Very nice.

I think this is also the first time we have seen the new Vanquish rear lights on a 4 door - they work well too.

Doesn't do it for me - kind of really plain looking.

It's neither elegant and delicate, nor purposeful. It's just, plain. Much like my English it seems.

I wonder if it's the wheels throwing me - they're totally wrong. But no, the whole thing isn't quite right. Front has no connection to the side, and that has nothing in common with the rear. And the detailing is rather mid-range Ford. Overhangs as well - too heavy looking. The front end of a modern Aston has no lightness.

I know the FF is only a 3 door, but I find it infinitely more interesting than this. It's more modern, more functional looking, and that seems more appropriate for cars apparently designed to be usable.

Meh!

If the front is unchanged surely the Fiesta copied off Aston...

No, much more Jag/Giulietta than Scirocco imho.

Bertone:

Alfa:

Jag

Melted VW

The alfa for the shape & bulges of the boot, the jag (of course) for the shape of the lights.

Love it, saw a Rapide this morning and it does look like a really well balanced design. Though the rear doors seemed pretty small to be useable?

I've felt that the Rapide should have been like this from the start, and possible just called DB9 Rapide, in the same way that we have a DB9 Volante.

laugh maybe because it doesn't
As much as they say they won't make it I'd lay money this will be in the MY14 line wink
Especially now tehy have pulled Rapide production back to Gaydon and have spare capacity
As others have said fast estates are the future laugh

Can it actually carry 6ft tall adults in comfort not claustrophobia like the Rapide which really is a bloated 2+2 like DB9 with poor interior design and packaging using half decent quality materials.
