Window rake looks good. Not usually a fan of convertibles but this looks nice, in that trim at least.

Bizarrely, I want this more than the coupe. Must be the inner hairdresser trying to get out.

I think it might've looked better as a 2 seater, with the rear bulkhead quite tight to the front seats. The rear looks a bit..stumpy.

Lovely car though.

I think it looks just fine as a 2+2.

Anyway, I had to watch this to get my manliness back;

All I am doing is expressing my opinion about the car, and for me and many other its a dissapointment.
You must read the almost universal praise that is lauded upon it quite differently to me then. Have you actually driven one?

No I have read it and I have already said its a good car, but many roadtesters said it needs more poke.

If I was in the market for a new sporty car, I would not buy one as I would want something faster and It is simpy not worth buying one and then spending a bucket load of cash making it faster.
So let me get this right, it's not worth say, £5k adding aftermarket forced induction, but asking the manufacturer to do it and add £5k on somehow is worth it? I can only assume you're worried about the warranty?

I wouldnt buy a brand new everyday car and then go elsewhere for an aftermarket conversion. I would much rather buy it ready out of the box..

They're not 17 inch wheels are they? They look massive!

Feels insecure about his 15s

Looks pretty good, don't like the 'lexus' lights though.

Looks smart .... If only the Honda S2000 had evolved in the other direction, into a sleek coupe with a hatch back. Or the MX5 for that matter.
You know Mazda did make a very limited run of MK2 MX5 Coupés - predictably they were JDM only.

Looked smart I think too, a bit like an early Z4 Coupé. Shame they never expanded production.

Surely someone can find a pic with the roof up?

Any thoughts on how much heavier it will be verses the coupe?

Also numpty mags in the UK that do bother to actually test the car, will often do 0-60mph with 2 people, lots of fuel and maybe even luggage or some other st.
I think that's the main difference - two up and a full tank, on a proving ground, versus one up on a drag strip.

Looks utterly gorgeous, hope they make the interior too! Crackin' colour combo.

I'd like a convertible, but, IMO a convertible GT86 is missing the point of a back-to-basics sports car. It also ruins the looks. I'd love an 86 (or a BRZ), but this just doesn't appeal to me. It'd have to be the coupe, I'm afraid.

If the pic above is the real roof then I pity any back seat passenger.

Personally I wonder if its got a roof at all, this is a concept (hence the wheels and brakes and OTT interior), maybe the roof is still on the list of things to do !

I know what I will be doing 3 years time trading my car in for convertible.
I have had my GT86 for 3 weeks now I love it.

Forget about the 0-60 time go for a test drive.

It makes you smile every time you drive it.

That's about how I imagined it. Not too bad considering it's a +2 but has no rear side windows.

I still might get one!
