Interesting and enjoyable vid Mr Harris ...although there's definitely a touch of the William Woollard to your style!

This video report was the best by far. I much prefer one high quality report like this, compared to multiple, much lower quality reports from the other motoring journalists. (Once exception being the Car / Porsche interview). Also the comments / insights regarding each of the cars were interesting. Good work CH.

The McLaren P1 looks utterly fantastic and is the most exciting car there IMO. Sure the Ferrari is faster in a straight line to 180mph. But look at all the aero on the McLaren! The McLaren has been engineered to be fast and stable in a straight line and blisteringly fast round the corners. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all of that - to my eyes the P1 looks fantastic too. Better than the La Ferrari.

GT3? Still not convinced in my mind. Will have to try it for myself. I can see myself getting more excited over the prospect of a Cayman R.

Alfa 4C? Yes: I had the same concern / impression regarding the interior when looking at the pictures. Might make the Alfa more of a Lotus competitor than a Cayman competitor if the quality of the interior is below expectations at GBP50k budget. But of course the idea of a sub 1 tonne car with a carbon fibre chassis at that price point is very appealing.

All in all, it was a very interesting show with some great cars as well as some utterly dreadful ones.

Good video as normal. Keep up the good work, I guess you didn't even try and get near the Ferrari stand?

Another underwhelming Porka. 7.30 around the ring. The 2009 std GTR is quicker than that. Chris's myopia returns as usual.
Who cares the GTR is faster, yes they have 4 wheels but they couldn't be much more different in the way they go about things.

Am I the only one who found Chris's presenting style for the show coverage similar to the Willy Woolard from back in the TG days? Really enjoyed that vid, cheers. driving

Good vid Chris, although I do wonder why the journos don't have a bit more of a poke about inside these cars while they have the chance.

Henry Catchpole did a nice P1 vid with some interior shots, how about some more camera-phone vid interior/detail closeups.. we can see the big pictures and overviews of the cars anywhere but these vids seem to be missing a trick to me. I seem to remember having a damn good poke around the F1 at what must have been the Birmingham motorshow(?) when I was young!

you really don;t understand the GT3 do you. Its not a GTR rival, it never has been and vice versa. GTR is aimed squarely at the Porsche Turbo.

Porsche are not stupid and based on every 991 released so far they know full well the Turbo is going to be quite simply amazing and like the GTR it will be an all rounder. GT3 is more of a purists car with traditional driver requirements, ie no turbos, more manual control etc hence the outrage in some quarters that it has no manual option.

So bear that in mind and you might just get why this car is so damn good and it bodes well for the RS version which follows. oh and 7:30 in a GT3 is a whole different feel to a 7:30 in a GTR, one is done by the driver and the other is done by the car, can you guess which one is which.

although on the subject of that time i am somewhat surprised that a Carrera S can do 7:37 and an extra 75bhp and a whole lot of extra tech only yields a 7 second reduction. I would suspect there is a lot lower time sitting in that GT3 and we may see a lower time as this season warms up and a few of the mags get to test it.

The 4C is the star of the show. It's easy to throw the kitchen sink at it and out pops a P1 but a 900kg carbon tub for 60k. Now that is a performance car for the times. Shame it Isn't 10k cheaper though.

I don't believe the Ferrari stats for one minute. I'll wait till it's tested. I also have a feeling the Macca will easily be the quicker car around a circuit.

I can only assume Lambo are trying to make some easy money to help with development costs? I guess they had to do something mental on the 50th aniversary so theyd have to be mad not to cash in. I like the madness of the veneo!?.. forgot its name allready rofl sounds like a bottle of wine .. but i agree where the fk is the new gallardo seriously?? the 2nd facelift just highlighted the older parts oldness.

Great video, thanks CH. Love the keen geekery too (the details about the P1's brakes for example). cool
