This should be on primetime terrestrial TV rather than tucked away on a website somewhere. IMO the public need motor show reports like this, it gets them interested in cars without thinking they need to affect Clarksonesque prejudice while doing so.
Although TBH I have grown rather tired with journalists complaining about the standard of trim in anything other than dedicated luxury cars. It seems to have just conspired to make most car companies make even their mainstream offerings feel over-stuffed, overweight and claustrophobic.

Ferrari ,excellent ,looks like a Batmobile,
Mclaren nice,
911 , needs more of a change to the outside,not changed enough.
Mercedes, looks smaller than old model more like a C class, i prefer the Audi styling..
Golf, Boring and over priced.
Alfa looks cheap.
Lambo looks like a Blakes 7, rocket

Until the show reports, I thought the LaFerrari would be the more exciting of the hypercars, but by god that McLaren looks spectacular. Wonder how the Porsche hybrid will compare to them too.
Whilst I love the prospect of the 4C, I struggle to get my head round certain aspects of it. Carbon tub and racecar style chassis design at that price point are fab (though the Elise has been doing the same type of design much cheaper out of aluminium for years), but the new Cayman S surely has the road oriented end of that market licked and the Exige S surely has the track oriented end. Is there any space in the middle for another car? I'm also not overly impressed with the styling compared to the Cayman/Exige either... Hopefully it'll turn out to be the prelude to such construction methods becoming more mainstream.

I've just got back from Geneva.
As someone stated earlier, the 4C really is the star of the show. It's the only car I could find that showed really innovative tech available in the real world (if £52k is real world). This is the car Lotus would build if they had the cash to develop it. A Carbon tub with all-ali engine and gearbox, which happens to be twin-clutch, is really stunning. It should perform similar to a SC Elise/Exige I think.
The interior didn't photograph well, it's actually really nice. Lots of leather and carbon, switches didn't feel cheap, it was a nice place to sit.
The carbon bits on the launch model look great, even the headlights. The headlights on the standard model look under-thought in comparison, so I'd expect a lot of punters to option a carbon pack (if they make it available). I loved it, and have a deposit down.
The REAL problem is the price - £52k for the launch edition is a LOT of cash and pitches it against a Boxster/Cayman, which whilst they look dull in comparision, they do offer more "solid" reputation. I love light cars, I love the elise/exige, but fully specced these are £38/40k new, which in itself is a lot of money for a basic performance car with no frills. I'd think of the Alfa as a grown up elise, but not as grown up as the Porsches - The 4C has more integrity than the Lotus IMHO, being all italian, all alfa (now Toyota engine!) its a really well engineered car - but £52k...!!!?? That price tag has got me reconsidering BIG TIME

As much as I love the LaFerrari, the Alfa is pretty special and is on top of my lust list.
I mentioned in another thread about how these new supercars are so hilariously expensive that they sort of fall out of reach of even the most far-fetched "dreams".
That Alfa, on the other hand. I think, to answer Chris' question, they've got the mix right. Personally, I see more of an appeal in the carbon tub, etc, than I do in engines, so the 1750 4 pot will do nicely.

So completely wrong about the Lamborghini Veneno - it's clearly fantastic! Completely a ridiculous car - excellent! No new Gallardo, oh well. I'd be fascinated to see how many of them lambo have sold compared to ferrari's 360, 430 and 458... And to be fair, it was better than both the 360 and 430. I actually quite like how lambo appear to be doing things - we don't need a new model every couple of years - the Gallardo still looks good, still has a great engine, still has loads of greatness about it.
That McLaren looks silly next to the Ferrari. Hopefully it's just the photos. I love the way the "LaFerrari" just looks like a mental 458 in the pics (although I'm sure it's much more dramatic in the flesh). It's big, bold design, whereas the McLaren is a little "bitty".

Loving the macca and the ferrari, not sure which i'd take and not sure i'd care! The lambo is out of date though, very odd. Interesting to see how the hypercar companies/ marketers are getting 'electric' into the public minds as being a good sporty addition more and more- whereas even 2-3 years ago, it was thought of as being green/ eco/ slow/ bad.
Drove the old E63 at mercs track in Surrey and it felt like a bif old heavy thing with a load of power (which I suppose it is). Interesting that it looked like even drift-happy Chris was having some issues getting all that weight into a smooth slide? Agree with the E63 estate comments though! Will be a beast.

I'm a big Lamborghini fan but when I first saw the pictures of it my reaction was the same "WTF have they done that for?". Utterly dreadful, it looks like the talentless daubings of a child with ADD.
I thought the P1 looked better on the video than it had done in any of the photo's I've seen, and the first head to head between it and the LF (I can't even bring myself to type it's full name) will be very interesting indeed.
Interestinc comments about the 4C interior being a little 'low rent' and surprised Chris wasn't more militant with regards to the PDK only GT3.
The X-Bow 'windscreen' made me chuckle. TG 'convertible people carrier' anyone?
