Probably about as fun as modern small hatches get, I would have thought.

But not as much fun as 1500 quid's worth of Pug 306 GTI-6 or Clio 172.
True. But more comfortable and easier to live with. Our definition of a "nice interior" has changed a lot since those cars came out. Manufacturers have to keep up.

Just to clarify, the Sound Symposer is a pipe directing actual engine noise in to the cabin area when you give it the beans. It's not engine noises being pumped in through the speakers.
This was introduced on the 2010 Mustang.
I thought the old shape ST and RS mk2 had the symposer tube before that.
yes

It has the same Aston front end and similar amounts of video cheese.

Do you have the black roadster by any chance? Looks very smart if that's the one. I think there is also a grey one although I can't remember if I've seen that at Dunton or here.

I bought the car last year with the quad conversion so I don't know how it compares to standard. I know I prefer it asthetically as it looks more balanced to me, the previous owner said it didn't make a difference to power but added slightly more bass to the sound when the engine was properly warmed up.
Yup, mine's the black one with the 108s, it's rarely in work as I live within walking distance. Agreed on the asthetic improvements - either way, quad or no quad, it's still more attractive than the exhaust on the Focus ST!

They have started production now, first vehicles likely to hit the road end of this month.

Seen a couple of the roads - must be Ford test vehicles / pre-prod cars.

I love it, front is a bit gawky compared to the pre-facelift (do Ford really not see this?) but it will be quick and great fun.

I know of a guy who has put an order in for one of these. swapping his very low mileage MK2 ST3 for it

and has also ordered all pre facelift front end parts, and will be fitting them the day he collects the car, so he says.

I'm not a fan of the front end, but could live with it if had the option of buying this car. I personaly think it would have looked tidier at the rear with a similar centre exit exhaust like on the Focus ST. and i slightly different spoiler from the zetec s would have been better too.

Agreed, and Ford are to be applauded for making the effort. A lot of manufacturers these days don't bother.

Cannot resist the notion that new(red) 208 Gti corners more exuberantly than Fiesta St at Lommel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdc1Ho32pg0
