The first car I remember my Dad owning (circa 1981) was a yellow Mk2 RS2000.

I can't believe I didn't get to post a Kenworth to follow Loon's Volvo truck.

American trucks are just so American.

I wish my computer was good enough to play Euro truck Simulator 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCsVuA7a-94

Although I realise in reality I'd get bored after 20 minutes of trying to punt everything off the road.

Can we add the word 'stanced' to the title?

I think we're ready to embrace it now; Low-plop is clearly fighting an urge that he cannot resist. Olly and I are already there.

I'm gonna need me some of those wheels right there, boy.

Glorious, aren't they?

Proper, old school-style craftsmanship.

You had to wait all that time for it and they didn't have it clean waiting for you?

I think this was my very favourite book as a six-year-old:

Although this is what I really wanted, with the cooker and sink over the engine cover:

The Kenworth Chris posted above is an Aussie one (well, an American-styled one in Austrlia). smile

American stuff for road trains - Kenworths, Freightliners, Macks

I was about 4 when I became obsessed with watching Convoy, and Smokey and the bandit. Big trucks have always been cool, especially the American or built for huge distances big stuff.

My Dad owned one in 1980; a black '79 Custom pretty much the same as the photo...I bought it off him in 1995, but it's been undergoing a 'minor' welding job for the last two years now and was last taxed in 1998. paperbag
