RE: Ferrari supercar exhibition opens

Seriously, you guys are taking the piss over the name. Who gives a crap what its called.
I'm sure if I could be arsed to look at other makers, I'd find some petty, obscure reason to nit pick at the edges of what is an excellent piece of engineering.
This car is amazing, and pushes the boundaries of design and execution. 2 seconds faster than the big mac to 300kph, sounds like a pretty amazing result to me.
But of course, the 15p sticker plastered over its arse is more important to some idiots.

Looks like many folk give a cr@p what it's called, no?I'm sure if I could be arsed to look at other makers, I'd find some petty, obscure reason to nit pick at the edges of what is an excellent piece of engineering.

Excellent engineering? Indeed. Pushing the boundaries of design? Hardly! Execution? Likewise. It looks like a 458 with tarted up make up, 'tis all. Oh, and don't believe EVERYTHING you read re: 2 sec...wait for a customer car (as in not one supplied and fettled by Fezza) to be put up against the P1. This may never happen, however, so it'll be left to folk on the internet to claim forever more that the FLF is faster 'cause the internet says it is...

I care about the ethos behind the car. The name DOES make a difference and coupled with bland styling, I have to admit that I am very, very disappointed in this car. And I am a big fan of the Enzo that preceded it.I'm sure if I could be arsed to look at other makers, I'd find some petty, obscure reason to nit pick at the edges of what is an excellent piece of engineering.

Hypercars are meant to look like they were sent back from the future. Think of the Countach, the Ferrari F40, even the Enzo - they all came down and had people rubbing their chins and thinking, well, that is challenging my thinking and making me want to know more.
The Laugh-errari looks bland. Like a styling exercise by a student. And the name and the complete lack of irony coming from Ferrari, makes me worry that they have lost sight of what makes Ferrari special. They have drunk too much of their own kool aid and are becoming a parody of themselves. I have no doubt the engine is awesome. But I also have no doubt that the McLaren will absolutely murder this thing on the track.
Enzo would not have approved IMO.
Won't stop them selling all they can make to the considerable number of Ferrari fanboys out there, however.

I agree it's a landmark car. I'm sure if I could be arsed to look at other makers, I'd find some petty, obscure reason to nit pick at the edges of what is an excellent piece of engineering.

I personally think styling wise the the Mac is much more innovative and likely to be seen as such in a decade or two's time.
The P1 I suspect will be faster on a track and theoretically on the road (both way too fast in reality)
Also the much quoted 0-186mph is 15.5 secs (Amazing) and McLaren are quoting less than 17 secs so not terribly different in the drag race.
Bring it on !!!
