RE: Range Rover Sport leaked undisguised
Discussion
Are you kidding me??? Just go around London and you would see how much of a "blokes" car the Land Rover range is. I see more women driving them than men at times.
The true blokes cars are that of the supercar range, although a few women are now starting to get in on these.

I just now mourn the loss of the last proper 'bloke's 4x4'.
First they namby-pamby the Defender's drivetrain with a blu-tak-based Ford Puma engine and gearbox - and now this.
I thought the RR sport and RR full stop were proper bloke's cars - as certainly were the older Discoverys - you know, the sort of thing you have as the owner of a paintballing operation.
But the whole Evoque and X6 design phenomenon is a bit like with modern Black & Decker drills - as though designed by 6-year olds.
The magic of the Defender was precisely that it wasn't 'trying' at all.
I understand - they will as you say sell like anything - but I mourn the end of a motoring era. Landrover were the last holders of that bloke's car torch.

This is just viral marketing as they know it will drive rumour threads on hundreds of forums and "exclusives" in magazines etc. All good fun though.
I am really torn, I hate the old sport and love the old range rover.
However, this new sport looks fantastic. Love to see one in green with ivory leather and small wheels.
With the 405 going even more upmarket, I wonder if this is meant to appeal to the buyers who would not spend the extra on the new FFRR?

So a bit like the last one?Second point: I guess so. Seems a lot nicer than the old sport though - looks more like a proper range rover. Subjective I know.

So buy a FFRR or a Discovery?First they namby-pamby the Defender's drivetrain with a blu-tak-based Ford Puma engine and gearbox - and now this.

Could have done more with the facelifts, the Sport and the new Vogue, just have new lights the shape is the same,The evogue is the only new model Land rover have brought out since 2002,everything else is a facelift.
Last new model besides Evogue was when the New Range Rover came out in 2002.should have made rear roof on sport more curved. Any Pictures of new interior of the sport, the old dash looked cheap
Umm.. err....... phew.........well...........Last new model besides Evogue was when the New Range Rover came out in 2002.should have made rear roof on sport more curved. Any Pictures of new interior of the sport, the old dash looked cheap
That's a great post apart from uhh........... the words, all of which are wrong. I tried to re-arrange them to make sense but they still came out all wrong.
This is carefully contrived for maximum free publicity, everyone likes a bit of insider information, finding out a secret, after all, why would JLR send a "Secret" car to a window tinter, I am sure if they can build a range of high end, cutting edge, capable, desirable four wheel drive vehicles they can apply some sticky back plastic to the windows or even just put some darker glass in.
I think it looks good, the old one will now date and devalue rapidly as soon as these appear.

Erm...
2004, brand new Discovery 3. Shared nothing with D2.
2005, brand new Range Rover Sport. New model.
2006, brand new Freelander 2. Shared nothing with FL1.
2011, brand new Evoque. New model.
2010, Discovery 4, facelift and tweak of D3, better interior and engines/gearboxes.
2010, RRS, facelift and new engines etc similar to D4.
2005, 2007, 2010, Facelifts of L322, jag engines, Tdv8 added, better gearboxes and interiors etc.
2007, Defender facelift with "puma" engines, 6 speed box, bonnet bulge, removal of bulkhead vents and forward facing seats.
- some dates may be wrong but the general vibe is, Tomoleads is talking out his rear passage.
