Big difference off the line.
A few extra bhp and fast gear changes makes a fair old difference!

The new 208 Gti gets a first drive review. The style of this jurno’s scribbling is almost as interesting as the car itself. He obviously fancies himself as a bit of a Bard, or maybe the new LJK Setright.

‘Try harder and the 208 will cock a showboating back wheel in frowning concentration; pushing back earnestly until excess power cheerily smokes the inside front tyre’.
Wow. That guy out-Queefs Troy Queef!

Nic Cackett? Somebody's taking the piss, surely?
Gotta be a joke at Autocar. Or a bet...quite possibly that chap's just won a bet!

Yes, the gearbox, some French software and a 200 Bhp turbo engine does the trick.

The older car probably only had 185 bhp as standard (many do).

How long before this new Clio will be easily up to 230 bhp with a remap?

The article loses cred due to the flowery language. Possibly penned after a long lunch on the sauce.

From the pictures it looks pretty disgusting. It doesn't appear to have any purpose. I can't understand why they've made it five door only.
Probably because the new Clio is 5 door only. Little point in investing in a 3 door version just for the RS model because a few of us prefer the looks.
Why no 3 door for the rest of the Clio range - I'm sure they worked out what's best cost wise/demand wise and went from there.
