SLEEPERS! Anyone have a street sleeper here?

/\ - Salt in the wound that!
Id like to throw this into the ring.
Doesn't look like much from the outside just another soft roader. However lying under the two tone exterior is all the running gear from Mitsubishi's parts bin and is a mad combination of evo 4 5 and 6 engine turbo and 4wd running gear.
Its too quick for the suspension and brakes and leaves a maniacal grin on your face.

Somewhere lurking around Retford (notts) is a red Sierra Estate. Faded dull oxidised paint, steel wheels, pea shooter exhaust, filthy and a bit rusty. Do not mess with it.
I assume the tail pipe is not he actual live one as this stty old shed left my Cerbera for dead. He even slowed down a few times so he could take the piss out of me again. I didn't hear any dump valve sounds or V8 rumble but it moved like it had been fired out of cannon but with barely a sound.
Jesus, what on earth would an old Sierra need to drop a Cerbera ! don't Cerberas do 0-100 in like 8 seconds, weigh not much more than a tonne and have 400 plus bhp, even most mega tuned Cosworths would struggle with one.I assume the tail pipe is not he actual live one as this stty old shed left my Cerbera for dead. We need to know more about this Sierra, it is the car Equivalent of feral Big Cats roaming Bodmin Moor or similar.

See, if that was mine I'd spray it baby-poo brown. then every time I "demonstrated it's abilities" I'd stand over the loser and just utter the words: "Say. My. Name."Id like to throw this into the ring.

I have played with plenty of Monaros / VXR8s on run outs and none of them have kept near my Scoob which is just north of 400bhp. So I would go to have a play with this one and get absolutely wasted as even though I know its not going to be slow its still running twice the power I was expecting.
Like being at Thunder Road (standing mile top speed event for vauxhalls and derivitives) last year. Had loads of heavily modded Astras, Corsas, Vectras a few of which were running north of 550bhp. And they all got wasted by a standard looking old Holden that just happened to have about 780bhp! Driven to and from the event by some bloke in his 50s+ lol

So this is the twin turbo Mercedes W124. 315 BHP and huge torque. No badges apart from a tiny twin turbo one on the spoiler that you would have to be six inches away to read. Someone fitted 18" alloys before I had it but I swapped them for std wheels which makes it much more fun.
Slightly delayed (as is my response) - but stunning! I agree regarding the alloys - a great sleeper. How does the W124 chassis handle the extra BHP? I imagine it might be a little scary?Cotty said:
Now I love that, im a big fan of the Mk1 Cortina, I had three. But why the Lotus colours, I prefer the 1500GT in a red or blue.
More people would probably recognise a Mk1 Lotus than a GT, and I was looking to give a few people a suprise with what appears a standard Lotus Cortina. If it were a GT clone people would know right away it had been fiddled with.e600 said:

I suppose it depends what you do with it on the outside. People in the know will know a Lotus Cortina has a bit of poke. A stock classic with a bit of poke would shock more. One of my Mk1's had a mild upgrade to a 1600 crossflow, lowered and had Lotus steel wheels, I didn't have the money or knowlage to take it further.BrettMRC said:
Now if that had a nice quiet exhaust, do like it lots though RB Will said:
See this is where I see blurred edges on this sleeper definition.

I'm actually in my 60's Mate, and yes, love beating kids young enough to be my grand children. The old girl does just about 600 at the rear wheels on a good day.Like being at Thunder Road (standing mile top speed event for vauxhalls and derivitives) last year. Yup from the factory (which mine is not) 0-100MPH in 8 seconds 0-60 in 3.8 and good for 200MPH and eaten alive by a Sierra. Have asked numerous people in "car circles" in my area if they have seen it or know of it. A couple have seen it and got wasted by it so it is local but I have no idea who owns it or what the hell they have done to it. Whoever did it has my deepest respect. We need to know more about this Sierra, it is the car Equivalent of feral Big Cats roaming Bodmin Moor or similar.
