Gov website says that Focus has a 2.5L petrol engine, so presuming it's got a 5 pot ST lump chucked in there and fettled with, great sleeper though, you wouldn't look once at it, never mind twice.

I glad that someone else has got it to check out on the gov site. One of requirements was it had to be as legal as any other car on the road.

Great thread. Actively looking to ditch the spoiler and 18" wheels on my mk4 Golf V6 4Motion and go back to standard 16" wheels so that I can appear sleepy. Then pick up a charger when someone else sells up.

Not mine sadly but I'm thinking this could be fun in the future....

I used to own this - Grandpa car.

Actually handled as well as it went with the 4.6 under the bonnet.

Surprised some folk on the TT course, on their motorbikes.

I had one of these for about 8 years. I loved it. It was a lot of things, but fast was not one of them. 250hp from a 4.6v8 is laughably low.

The supercharged versions go well though.

with this:

Uh-huh yes
Yep, just looks like the average st box Focus, usually 100 ish bhp but has over three times that.

Its a boggo looking model, estate for extra points, no external clues and it is still a common sight, rarer, older stuff can be a sleeper but the ultimate is what looks like a painter and decorators daily hack.
Love the steel wheel effect. It just needs some roof rails and a ladder on top.

Brilliant! Is that a down-turned tailpipe too?

Custom 3" stainless system with a diesel style down turn. And a tow bar.

Only improvement i can think of is 2 tatty (preferably mismatched) wheel trims, one for each side on different axles biggrin

For true sleeper status you'll have to replace the rub strips with boggo textured black unpainted ones and replace the taillights with standard orange indicator units

I have to say, that really is top work Chris. I bet every journey is a laugh in that.

I recall the 'pensioner chic' thread a few years ago - I'd love to see something similarly unassuming with the beaded seat cover and all that gear.

I had been thinking the very same thing. I like your style.

The Polo and Focus are definitions of sleepers. Perfect.
