SLEEPERS! Anyone have a street sleeper here?

Technically this is a sleeper as itd got a bed in the back and is being converted from a 75hp diesel to a 260hp Saab b234 in the next few weeks
Not very subtle but has a 500hp Saab lump in the back
I have a Defender 90 with a V8 Developments stage 4 4.8 V8 in it.
I took it to a charity quarter mile sprint day and it was faster than everything to 100ft except a few Skylines and 911 turbos. It simply takes EVERYTHING off the line. My wife was recording one run and the commentary was pure gold - the guy behind the mike absolutely loved it.
All day people were coming up to me and saying "what the f is in that thing?!"
Personally I love blasting past X5s and Cayennes at big leptons with the mudflaps flapping in the wind like a mad spaniel's ears.
There is something very loveable about that machine. If I had to sell all my kit I could make a strong case for that being the last to go.

I suppose my old Monaro might not count, as it's meant to be a fast car with 398ps in stock form. Modding it to 1200hp with twin turbos and a seven litre engine meant it ran the quarter quicker than a Veyron:
The only clue to its altered nature being the 15-inch rims on the back end. Sadly, I was never challenged to a street race. I'm guessing that a big red muscle car is just too obvious.
The engine is now partly transplanted into a dark green Audi 80 coupe. The turbos and injectors are bigger, so power will be up. The last engine in this car ran well over 1500hp, so it has got to be one of the most potent sleepers ever:
Both highly impressive - respect to that pair! The only clue to its altered nature being the 15-inch rims on the back end. Sadly, I was never challenged to a street race. I'm guessing that a big red muscle car is just too obvious.

However, as quick and mighty as they may be, they're not exactly discreet... are they? One glimpse at those rear wheels alone, and anybody would be wondering what's under the bonnet.
Not exactly sleepers on my count.

Not mine, but one of my favourite sleepers, Wenny's mk3 Escort Cosworth
Here's a video of it doing 0-60mph in 2.74 seconds.

It's a bit less discreet now with a proper roll cage, different wheels and more power (circa 650bhp) but has done a 9.9 second 1/4 mile, which is bloody quick in anyones book!
Perfect sleeper, including the pensioner-spec AA badge. Here's a video of it doing 0-60mph in 2.74 seconds.

Did a 9.5 @ 144mph a couple of weeks ago. Doubt there is another sleeper, that IMO can be classed as one, that is as quick as thisHere's a video of it doing 0-60mph in 2.74 seconds.

Very nice, blows my old Aero into the weeds, and makes it look positively sensible. I miss that car. I miss it a lot.
Get another!I might be selling my 65k scarabe green aero soon. baby due in November, want something big, safe and boring that the missus can drive too. It's been pampered and drives like its new.
Good sleeer basis

I'm laughing my head off at some people's suggestions of a sleeper. I don't think they get the concept...
Is this sleepery enough for you?428bhp at 1.4 bar boost, hopefully will crack 500 in a few weeks when some bigger injectors arrive. Looks like a proper stter from the outside; Rust, faded paint, scratches, several shades of red, no external mods.
Car was bought for £400, now has £12k under the bonnet.....
