i didn't say it was a proper sleeper, said the modified exterior does prevent that. but in my experience most are all show, no go.

Every single time there is a sleeper thread on PH there are dozens of picture of high performance models that happen to look similar to the lower spec models. Not sure why it's so hard for some to understand the term.

Your Citroen isn't, never was, and never will be a sleeper.

Look at the Renault 19 and use that as your reference point of what a sleeper is.

You would think it was easy for a person with the brain power to accumulate the money to afford one....seems not smile

It's like it becomes some sort of pissing competition.

Here's my hugely powerful modded hot hatch. It's a sleeper!

I would say Fail on the sleeper, any US "rat look" truck is suspect these days.

Nice truck but edged out by them being "on trend" for hot rodding I think.

Yes that was a sleeper, even had the tubes on the roof.

There was a sleeper Clio, had the 1.1 spec inside and out but ran a proper engine, can't remember what thou.

A sleeper will fail as a sleeper if big brakes, exhaust roll cage etc are showing.

I think big brakes arent a fail. Picking the wrong wheels which show too much of them however is a fail.

The Astra Van, the Renault above and that Focus diesel which is an ST are true sleepers. The grubby Omega with iirc the Lotus Carlton running gear was fab too.

You can imagine the doolies posting non-sleepers and Q-cars on these threads are the same doolies that post completely new models on a 'facelift' thread.

Anyone thinking if their car is/was a sleeper needs to look at that Renault 19 then reconsider posting. It's a perfect example of a sleeper.

That shell belonged to someone I know through a car club.

They put some vids up of it, too.
