Back on form in here again, Skyline and a big modern Volvo with bin lids for brakes and shouty paint
It can't be a wind up, can it? Next up: Golf R. It looks like a Golf R but it's been modified - suckers! feef said:
I'm in two minds about my own car.. it's an MX5, so it's a sporty car, but they aren't 'fast'... but then an average punter might not be aware of the fact that they aren't fast and assume that being a sports car it should be fast...
But it was running 225bhp with an Eaton M45 supercharger and no external cues, before I holed a couple of pistons. It's currently mid engine transplant where it'll be receiving a 1UZ (4.2L V8 from a Lexus)
Is there a build thread for it? But it was running 225bhp with an Eaton M45 supercharger and no external cues, before I holed a couple of pistons. It's currently mid engine transplant where it'll be receiving a 1UZ (4.2L V8 from a Lexus)

There's a thread on here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
and I'm trying to keep my own blog updated as I go too : http://kickingtyres.co.uk/

Yes they went racing, but so did/does Lada and this one doesn't shout racing (apart from the colour maybe)
Really. Alloys, large brakes, visible exhausts out the back, premium brand.... why would that NOT be fast. Why is this so hard? Clio shopping basket with Williams engine - sleeper.
Dog-rough Astra with VXR engine and steelies - sleeper.
Focus estate with ~400bhp (down turned exhaust a la diesels) - sleeper.
Gleaming Volvo with all the gubbins of an executive express - not a sleeper.

Skylines don't count as sleepers you clown
And if you actually read my post I said it wasnt a proper sleeper.I merely included it in here as its a 20 year old mid range jap saloon, usually bought for a couple k by chavs that isnt that fast. This one looks the same as all those but could scare a Veyron.

It's not a sleeper in any sense of the word, not even slightly. Things like the Fast and the Furious mean that the public associates Skylines with being fast. If anything, people would be surprised with a stock Skyline that isn't fast.I merely included it in here as its a 20 year old mid range jap saloon, usually bought for a couple k by chavs that isnt that fast. A sleeper is meant to leave an M3 driver speechless when he is beaten off the line by an unlikely car. A skyline is about as likely as it gets.

I always fancy a tip/dog car which would be an old Fabia Estate with a TT 225 engine with a few choice mods.
It's been done, the Fabia shares a lot with a Polo GTI and Seat Ibiza 20vt and then it's a case of fitting a KO4 or something more interesting to bump up the power. There is also a Polo estate which is essentially a Seat Ibiza Cupra from the A pillar forward that runs a 20vt with a hybrid turbo
Along similar lines this should fit in with the thread..
maybe ditch the Porsche rims.
The VR6 offers nearly double the power/torque of the most powerful engine fitted to the VW Polo of that era.

Think for a bit, does/would it surprise you, say like the Astra Van would ?
Why is this game so hard
I've no idea! Part of me really wishes this thread would die but I'm clinging in hope for correct suggestions. And none of them would have 20inch alloys. Or indeed alloys of any kind unless miss matched scuffed 15inch jobbies. Why is this game so hard
I've no pictures but I remember getting my ass handed to me at Santa pod by a 'BT' yellow maestro van while I was in a heavily modded EP3. I didn't have a good start but until I crossed the line in second place I was so sure I'll 'catch him in a second'. Nope! A crappy yellow st heap killed my rice-racer and about £10k of mods. yet
