Poppycock...so if Edmund Hillary was around today he would be cut and shutting GTR's to slake his thirst for adventure?

No No No

The GT-R is a thing of...beauty
The QashQow isnt.

What they should have done is lightly played with the GT-R then driven the QashQow into the Severn Estuary

I doubt the finished car will be able to handle this sort of thing at much more than walking pace (if you want it to remain in one piece). That's why I mentioned the Nemesis earlier. I'd love to see something half way between a GTR and a Bowler - it'd probably be the fastest thing point-to-point on some of our roads.

I know - how did they dream this up????

Such a crazy idea, you take a GTR engine and running gear and drop it into a Nissan soft roader....

....oh

All very difficult, expensive and time consuming but they are not doing it purely for the love of life - it's a carefully planned PR stunt to generate coverage for their tuning services.

All that is missing is some imagination.

To borrow the example from earlier. It's like climbing Everest a week after Hillary. Very commendable but somehow a lot less noteworthy.

would have been more interesting to put it into an old skyline from the 70s or even anything nissan, right the whole way up to the R34 GTR.

Then again there has been many pointless exercises by many companies. Its all in the aim of one thing - to says its "been done"!!

Why you think Renault F1'd an Espace, Nissan GTR'd a Juke and Ford F1'd a few Transits!!??? As well as smaller tuners doing plenty of RB'd 200sx's, Cosworth YB'd Transit vans, 2JZ'd Skylines, SR20'd AE86 Corollas ....need i go on?

I can't help but laugh because whatever these 'tuners' intentions are it usually means a great idea executed to best of their abilities. This then restricts proper development therefore end product becomes expensive one hit wonder forever being mended.

I'd rather see a skyline donate itself to an old Datsun Z car. Otherwise do the transplant but keep the original Quashquiakiaiikai wheels and tyres.

I would think the choice of wheels and suspension would be key, I'm sure most have seen even the most capable off roaders stuck because of wrong headed choices.

But sure this kind of car is exactly what I was thinking about. Love the idea of the Bowler, but it's too wide.

An RS4 Allroad?

That's what I mean: I'm doubt any of the Allroad Audis are tough enough to drive over that sort of thing at normal speed (without slowing down / doing damage). If however they fitted "bowler style" suspension to this 'Qashqai GTR', it'd be a winner.

Will they have to have this subjected to an iva test when complete?
It's interesting that the donor car seems to be hiding its identity, whereas the quasquai has all it's plates on show.
I wonder what reg it will end up on, the quasquai reg or the donor r35 or a new one?

Seems an expensive way of showing off ones cut and shut / fabrication skills. Unless the donor r 35 is not able to used for some reason.

If you know SVM's history you will be well aware of their penchant for overestimating themselves. Going all the way back to when they were churning out 350BHP+ 1.6 Escort RS Turbos...

As per everyone else. If they were first to do this. Great. As it happens they aren't so it's pointless.

Old post I know, but since it was made entirely from new parts it would be eligible for a current year reg plate after passing an IVA test.
