Jaguar really are on a roll at the moment, it's hard to think of another car company that has managed to turn around its image so comprehensively in a relatively short amount of time.

Get this car in the next Bond film as the villain's transport and all will be well!

MyCC.
Really? Do they sell that well? Hardly see any in the UK, and I should imagine that is Jaguar's main market.

I drove the XJ Supersport at a Jaguar drivers day at Thruxton, together with XKR and XFR.

The XJ Supersport was a revelation. In fact, I recall that everyone was deeply impressed how such a large car was not only so fast, but also had such great body control, agility and turn in.

It was bloody good.

This new one can only be even better.

And although the likely price of around £100k seems steep, against the context of AMG's and , even, Bentley Conti's, it still offers value.

Mind you, depreciation means that a low mileage Supersports for around 50K is stunning value.

Good cars, these. Buy with confidence.

+1 I think unfortunately that the current XJ is not ageing that well, and although I have no firm stats to back it up, the bankers in Canary Wharf I see daily are all in recently registered S Class, 7-ers and A8s without exception...

In terms of numbers, I believe so, But that's largely on XFs, especially the 2.0 and 2.2 diesels. The majority of XJs go abroad, IIRC.

In my (biased) opinion, the XJs are wonderful, wonderful things. Proper Jaguars. Grace, space, pace cloud9

My guess would be that China and the US are the main markets with recession deep UK far behind. Cracking car either way!

You clearly have eyes and a sense of style. Unlike their buyers.

Yeah should have at least 800bhp or more. whistle

I am referring to the acceleration...0-60 time - 5 seconds...it did that 10 years ago.

When you consider an E63 does it in 3.6 seconds and an M5 in a little over 4...it seems to be playing catchup.

Great car, shame about the looks. SIII XJ still unsurpassed. I may live out in the sticks, but have yet to see an XF Sportbrake anywhere on the road.Is it just me?? Now that car with the 550 horses & 4wd....

Yep. Why not buy a 5 series and be like everyone else on the UKs roads?

I should point out that I was being conservative in my estimates. Nothing's been confirmed yet, and the XFR-S does it in 4.4s, so XJR could well match the M5 or get very close!

Funny, I think the previous model was an ugly, lazy pastiche, but the new one is a bold, assured shape.

This in my book is a good thing. I'd rather not buy a super saloon (if I had the dosh) that was the favoured transport of city w.., oops sorry, meant BANKERS!!

I love the current XJ, to me its stunning and unlike the BMW.MERCS.AUDIs doesnt look like an inflated overweight version of the company's smallert models.

My thoughts exactly. The older model was timid. Nice engineering but stylistically, a cop out. As if Jaguar lacked confidence.

The new one is much better. It also banishes in one move, the walnut sideboard and retired colonel image of Jaguars in the past.

Jaguars are cool now.

Lovely car, they do feel like a special place to be.

Now. Anyone getting fed up of PH editorial content which spends less time talking about the supposed subject of the article than it spends linking to the PH Classifieds?

We can go there ourselves if we want to. I appreciate Haymarket probably want to push this part of the business at the moment but FFS ease it back a notch!
