I love that Charger. All they need to do is shrink one in the wash to say half size and ill have one.

The Yanks get the Dodge Avenger - it's a crap car and an old design, but it looks like a 3/4 scale Charger and comes with a 280bhp V6 for $22k.

The engine has enough grunt that being an auto isn't really a problem.

The other thing is that they have a foot operated park brake so doing hill starts in a manual is an artform.
I've seen this here about the Mercedes brake and always had a "huh?" moment. Back in the 80s I had a 1974 Camaro manual with a foot operated parking brake. Like a Mercedes, you release it by pulling a handle WITH YOUR HAND. One foot on the clutch, one on the throttle, one hand on the wheel and one on the brake release. In my youth I could even chew gum at the same time. So please explain to me why a hill start would be a problem.

I managed it for two years and I'm hardly Mr Twinkletoes.

Back on topic. Great looking car although having come across a posse of them at the Ring a few years ago they seem a bit unwieldy to say the least!

Exactly. You RELEASE it.

Unlike a car with a handbrake that you can ease off whilst matching the clutch biting point with the throttle a foot operated EPB is not a natural action in a manual car.

My wife said that she wanted a bright coloured car after years of boring, grey company cars in France. I bought her a "Sublime" and she's living her american deam.

The rear axle control feels a bit rustic but that's part of the fun of driving it. The rest of the fun is the noise of the big V8.

And it's done wonders for wifey's image at work, the chic blonde in heels who drives an all-american, stickshift V8 the colour of Shrek's butt. They are in awe she tells me.
