But without dyno figures you can't see the before and after. Get it to MRC and have a RR done before and after and then come back and tell us if you manager the 0-100 in 10 seconds. If you go for the stage2 I think you will accomplish your target.
0-100 will come up in about 9 seconds with their stage 2. (3.6s to 60 and 11.9 in the 1/4).mmm, had my eye on one of these (Avant) for a while, and never seen anything remotely like £15k, so I suspect that isn't a price anywhere near what the average joe can pick one up for. Will go and have a peruse of the usual classifieds anyway, but I think I might be waiting a while for them to hit the £15k level.

I think it's more an indication of the spread between trade-in offer and retail price.I swapped mine for a C63 AMG PPP last year. Four months on I still miss the intuitive simplicity of the Audi MMI compared to the infuriating wierdness of the Mercedes equivalent. (the power increase is fun though)
Not sure about radar cruise control and blind spot annoyance device on an 08 S4,I didn't think it came in until after mine (which was late 2010)buT maybe I was just accidentally wise and didn't spec them when I bought it. I have the mirror thing on the Mercedes and it took me weeks to figure out how to turn it off.
The S4 was a very good car, my dogs also liked it and I got a very good discount on it new in 2010.

Bad choice the C5, horrendous bills if and ultimately when it goes wrong. This in Stage2 form is a much better car.
Fair point.I'm not really that up-to-spec with fast Audis.... So:
In standard form, I take it as a C5 would take this, or will this hold it's own?
I just love the stance of the original RS6, they look so purposeful but still discreet, in a weird way. And remember them in Gran Turismo back in 2002 - it was the quickest car in that game, bar the Pagani Zonda.
Either way - this S4 is staggering value for money at £15k.
B8 S4s are fantastic value in my opinion. However while I am not a trader, wheeler dealer or even much of an experienced car buyer, these are not available for £15K to the average buyer. I think CH has matched or bettered a trade in offer for a well used example in a condition which may well have set a new low for values. A fair example of an 09 car is more like £22K or thereabouts from a private seller or an independant dealer.

Yep spot on, CH is very lucky as said earlier to bag this car for £15k despite the rank wet dog smell that will come with it.pSyCoSiS said:

NO the B8 in standard form would be shown up really especially at something like 30-130 event by the C5. But then it's a different beast. It's old tech though and the DRC and gearbox are the achilles heel of what should have been a fantastic motor but in reality it was a real let down and a nightmare for alot of owners. The new tech on the B8 S4 is leaps and bounds ahead including the excellent DSG and also with the stage2 it will be capable of beating the RS6.I'm not really that up-to-spec with fast Audis.... So:

I was wondering about that, probably a handling issue as unlikely to be worn after 50k or so unless incessant ragging has done it in, in which case bushes and dampers wont be the only thing needing to be replaced.

Nice car Chris - something I lust for at the minute.
I'm currently driving a 2002 B6 A4 Avant, which I have spent a fair few quid on over the past year, putting things right along with a few modifications.
(for some bizarre reason I like slightly older cars, which at the point of purchase start needing lots of work doing - next time I'll go newer, I swear) - the thing just has a terrible engine, which is one of the cars only downsides (2.5TDi).
I'm curious as to why you say your S4 may require re-bushing.
I have just replaced all bushes, suspension arms & ball joints on the front of my B6 A4, I was quite surprised that after 145,000 miles of use the bushes (with the exception of one) were in my mind, good condition - no splits, minimal wear.
Are you replacing due to wear or are you looking at upgrading them (i.e polyurethane) at that kind of milage I would still expect it to drive not to differently as to when it was new.

I said much the same a few posts back...I Was looking at B8 S4 avants over the weekend. All were well above £20k, so trade-in value would be circa £15k for one in need of a good clean and prep.

Good on you Mr Harris.
Very much following with interest.

They seem to be holding their value then, I paid just shy of £22k for my launch year saloon, high no of owners though. What I have noticed is the PH options of the Quattro sports diff and drive select are very rare to get hold of ! Try and give dynamic steering a good test drive if you see one with it, as it is a bit marmite (I don't like it )
But the qsd and drive select are winners in my book, although it will be interesting to see if Chris's shocks are worn out as my car has 10k less miles on it.

I almost regretted speccing this on my S4 but have warmed to it now I'm used to how it thinks. The first few times you hoon 'round a corner and feel the steering lock change is disconcerting though........I'd also agree with the sports diff being essential to make the S4 shine.
