Am I right in thinking that anything 55 plate or older will have sensible road tax too?

Nice tool - what happens to the insurance with the mods ? Can I hear the insurance man laughing from here
with 'motoring journalist' and 'Modified car' added to the risk profile ?

Chris,
Can you keep the noise down on these B8 S4's please? Most B5 RS4 owners see the B8 S4 as the only thing capable of replacing their beloved B5s when they eventually die (B7 is just too slow for its looks) and we'd like to see the B8 continue depreciating as quickly as possible.
Uprating rear ARB works a treat on almost all Audis. Bilstein B12 kit is virtually as good as Pss 9/10s for a lot less money, too.
How much did the previous owner lose in value by not fitting a (£60 for custom-tailored) boot liner.......? Madness.

Yeah uprated ARB does wonders.

If you really want to liven it up a little, then I suggest you take a look at...
www.mrctuning.com
They're in Banbury - Audi Driver tuning award for seven years running. They're now offering their stage 2 package for around £1500 - smaller pulley for the supercharger etc.
This is the dyno plot you need to see...(500ps, 600NM)

No affiliation - just in the market for a B8 S4 myself these days and they did some great stuff on my previous B5s...
Absolutely totally agree, Dougie has had my S3 through and he is a top bloke who knows what he is doing. Top VAG tuners for something like 4 years on the trot as far as I can remember. No affiliation from my side either....I did suggest MRC when Chris initially mentioned about tuning an Audi estate on here a month or so ago.......real usable horsepower..www.mrctuning.com

I am tempted to sell the M5 and replace it with a 15K S4 and spend the £1495 on the MRC stage 2. It's an awesome map for not much outlay and I get to go back to my lovely Audi's.

I wanted an E61 M5 but couldn't justify the fuel economy....
You're in the wrong place if you don't want egging on....!
Chris who were you making the videos for ,such as the one featured for the Audi ,headed as Republic.
The damage to the front bumper,i get them jobs done for £80,a bumper corner,£120 full bumper.
In fact there the cars i look for to buy ,a lot cheaper than a undamaged same model, £200 worth of paint and you can sane a grand

There is that! Not great but I did get over 20MPG on a nice 400 mile cruise last week so pretty good considering the mighty V10 engine. If you do go down the stage 2 route then you will no doubt compromise that fuel economy for the extra power but normal driving won't be too different from stock.I wanted an E61 M5 but couldn't justify the fuel economy....

75 is a whole lot from a remap alone, the most I have seen in the past is circa 35-45bhp increase, unless this is at the flywheel rather than than the wheels, which could then be slightly more possible
Remember that it's forced induction (supercharger) on a 3 litre engine, not normally aspirated. Pretty much any 3 litre car with a supercharger or turbo will give up that sort of extra power from a remap alone. MRC's remap on the TTRS gives 60ps/120nm extra and that's "just" a 2.5, albeit a turbo.Over 100hp extra is possible with remap and filter on the B8 S4. Swap the supercharger pulley for a smaller one, and you're getting up to 150 extra hp. Very very tuneable car. Here's a stage 2 one hitting 3.55s to 60 and just nudging into the 11s in the 1/4.
