Ditch the yellow calipers and wrap one up for me, please.

Stunning, and far more tasteful than any other track special out there (at least, ones that spring to mind).

The last thing you want as a track car is something heavy hence why this makes no sense however i am sure somebody will like it as a road car somebody who can stang £50,000 depreciation in first year.......

I really like it and think it is great that Jag is making these cars, however it is a little on the expensive side, but until spec details are realeased it is impossible to judge the value and cost of these changes!!!

What really irks me lately on Pistonheads is the seemingly majority of posters on this forum that object to more hardcore versions of sports car - in particular coming from Jaguar. If this is your opinion I firmløy believe you are on the wrong forum, please check out Caravaners / Gardeners weekly forums, to indulge in posting such nonsence. Jag or any other car manufacturers making faster and more hardcore versions should ONLY be rejoiced on this forum!!!

I bet if Jag realeased the same car with 400kg of weight saving and a stripped out interior even more people would post on its "un-Jaguar-ness", and would squirm even more at the cost associated with such weight savings.
Absolutly agree I really couldn't have said it better myself

Make mine an XKR.

+1 That's how a Jag should look
+2. The standard XKR or even the XK with no spoilers, side skirts or wings looks absolutely superb. The XKR-S GT looks bloody awful. I thought Jags were supposed to be about space, pace and grace.........
+3. The wing is stupid and they have ruined the face.

The point is it already exists... so there is no need for them to build the same thing! So it doesn't matter if you and most others prefer it - there will be some others who prefer this and are willing to fork out on it. It's not the main version of the car, so it doesn't need to have a wide ranging appeal. However it will get more attention for the brand. Again some people seem to forget car companies are a business... Saying they should avoid the new money... well, there is very little old money left that will be buying cars in the near future, so they have to go for the new "Halfords" money!

For the exact same cash you could have a very low mileage DBS. Side by side, the DBS makes this look utterly ridiculous, without any style or grace.

Good god no- 130 grand and you get to compete with the local chinese delivery driver for crapiest looking bodykit. Landrover it seems has a team of designers who are in touch with the brand heritage but also looking forwards.Jaguar on the other hand have got a team inspired by death race 2000

Honestly, it's as if there isn't anything else in the world other than 'style or grace'.

If I wanted to waft and pose I'd have the Aston. If I wanted to be hooning around a track then I'd want something like the Jag (C63 Black really).

People like different things!

+1. It's not like they're replacing the XK-R with it.

You really think a special edition with a production run of less than 50 is going to depreciate that heavily? I doubt it. Personally I love it and having seen it in the flesh, the pictures really don't do it justice. So much presence.

I agrewe, look at the original XKR-S, you cant find one and if you do it's still commands over £35K which is about £10k more then the standard XKR...

Unlikely.
It has a live rear axle. We know. Spare the lack of knowledge.

Really?

My local Jaguar dealer has one. Instead of a price tag it says "make an offer" since they cannot sell it.

Exactly - car companies have to chase the money, its what they do to stay alive.

Maybe if more prim and proper old money types were still buying Jags then Jaguar wouldn't need to appeal to the Nouveaux Riche lot.

I think this looks amazing!

dear car manufacturers,

Stop spending all your effort and development budget making stupid fking toy cars with stupid fking spoilers and stupid fking colour schemes for stupid little fking rich boys from the middle east. Focus purely on making beautiful, desirable, classy, amazing and wonderful cars and if you really want to rape and pillage the saudis for their cash, buy a stupid little fking tuning house over there and get them to do it all, thus not utterly ruining your brand, and flooding PH with utter, utter, utter ste like this abomination.

Love,
Hopefully most petrolheads
Nope, you don't speak for me. I like my cars to be aggresive like this and the C63 Black.

I like... including the spoiler (but not the wheels), though like others on here they should have made more of an effort on the weight saving.

Edited by Cable on Wednesday 27th March 08:03
Yup ...not talking for me either. I also love these kind of cars ...WITH the spoiler. I would, however, prefer black wheels and a stripped out interior. Can never understand how a comfy interior like that can make you focused and determined on the track.
maybe i dont speak for you two, but i do hope i still speak for the majority of petrolheads. I have noticed that 'headline' story threads attract a different kind of commenter however!
