I don't get why they don't just turn down the wick a tiny bit, to get it to reach the magical 30.0mpg/225g CO2 which would be a USP vs the E63 and M5, and aid sales as prospective buyers wouldn't have as much depreciation to worry about if the road tax was half the price. Doubt 20bhp less would have made a massive difference. Planned obsolescence so a facelifted one that hits emissions targets has a big jump in sales for a then ageing model?
Would that really matter to somebody spending near a £100k on an Audi estate though? I doubt a couple hundred pound saving a year will help shift anyEdited by mgmt585 on Wednesday 10th April 14:59
Beautiful car, and would definitely be in my lottery win garage. Is there another car on the planet that does so much so well?
Shame they can't get the steering feel right though. That's one dynamic quality of a car that you can enjoy every time you drive it, and at all speeds.
Not saying it would put me off, mind

Even though this one does sub 4 seconds to sixty, there is something about having a massive italian V10 in sensible audi estate clothes. Plus it sits nicely in the lottery win collection of Vs - 6, 8, 10 and 12!
Whilst the C6 with it's Lamborghini V10 undoubtedly has it's appeal, at least the twin turbo V8 isn't going to spoil the new model. - It's not as if the RS6 has no previous with one either. This new car does look promising, at least from a dynamic point of view. - Audi do at least seem to be making some progress regarding the driving experience of their higher-end models (I just wish this would filter down to the A3 etc.). - It still sounds like they need to sort the steering out though. What amazes me is that the same company that makes the A3 also builds the R8.

I just hope this does not push the prices of the previous 4.2 turbo versions down even further.
I am having little interest in mine, despite its realistic price compared to others.
Around £10k for one of these must be about the most car per £ available at the moment.
I think the problem is that whilst the car itself is "cheap" second hand, the running costs are still those of a supercar - unfortunately! I am having little interest in mine, despite its realistic price compared to others.
