saw an immaculate one of these the other day. What was the point of it?
You mean 3dr estate? I suppose it was for tradespeople who had no need for extra doors and hence cheaper to buy and they were only in low trim levels usually. Most of Escort rivals did 3dr estate aswell..Think they died out in.early 90s.Mk4 was last of the Escort to have them.
A shooting brake for the working class.

An Anglia 105E with a Continental kit.

Apparently Ford made it like this for the European market only.

I never knew that or ever seen one before.

From the Loumann museum in The Hague.

Never knew Alpina produced a B12 based on the 850CSI until I saw one drive past recently. Seeing B12 and 5.7 on the bootlid had me reverting to Google for a bit of info. Quite a rare spot it would seem eek

Generic pic below (the one I saw was a burgundy/maroon colour).

Didn't I'm afraid, was passing in the other direction and was primarily focused on car itself and trying to read badges.

Just curious as I think RHD is much, much rarer than LHD. 57 in total made.

There were only ever 4 RHD examples - all in various shades of blue / black. nerd

For a burgundy-colored B12 5.7 the only candidate would be this car:
