Looks like a bit of an odd forum. They seem rather conditioned to blindly accord respect to anyone with money.

Nor does it match up with the recent publicity they got from the DRIVE series on YouTube. I watched those episodes and was quite impressed with the things they showed, but that was all part of Koenigsegg's carefully calculated image campaign.

However, this is a real customer with real money explaining what really happened when he purchased a Koenigsegg Agera R - the very first Agera due to be delivered in the USA. Whatever opinion you form about him from reading BC's posts doesn't much matter. He's not some spoiled kid and he clearly isn't lying. He didn't throw down more than a million dollars and then spend more than a year talking about the Agera he was getting only to toss it back the day it arrived for something trivial.

Not everything.....

They have/ had a pretty good 'Best Garage' thread going at one point.

Spent a good couple hours flicking through some pictures of lovely Garages & metal.

So if you spend serious money on something and cant take delivery for a year or two and get promised differnt things all the time you just accept it?

You'll find that people at L4P are more image conscious than most - that's a turn off for some. At the end of the day the majority of them are car enthusiasts and petrol heads just the same as you'll find here. He may care about a $400K watch that seems ridiculous to me, but I know that BC is a car guy at heart or I wouldn't be here making a fuss about the misconceptions being tossed around.

Just imagine if you had the money to buy your dream custom supercar and then when it was delivered it was not as promised, had quality issues, and the company kept making excuse after excuse along the way and never really delivering the product you'd paid them a million dollars to own. This wasn't BCs first rodeo either - one of the cars in his garage is a Veyron Super Sport so he knows what to expect and his expectations weren't met. Then he agreed to keep quiet just so he could wipe his hands of all of it and Koenigsegg's marketing geniuses ruined that with their BS claims of satisfaction. He wouldn't have ditched the car if he was satisfied - he'd have done just the opposite and promoted it like hell.

And British Middle Classism raises its head once again.

No, lets not talk about the actual experiences of a customer who has parted with serious dosh and his lousy experience with the company and product, lets talk about his lack of class instead.

BC moaning about his car on the utterly cringeworthy luxury4play forum said:
So first upon close inspection there were many flaws and damages on the car? I was like..ummm..wtf..why...this car was sitting at factory long enough that everyone there should have inspected it inside and out...one of the rear panel paint was bubbling bad, and it continually got worse over that week, there was a chip on the inner carbon part of the roof. I was like..c'mon, for a 1.5MM car, what kind of mickey mouse Hyundai inspection is that..but I mean I guess it all makes sense now since they do have a turnover rate around 30% on employees. The interior was very deceiving from pictures, in real life it was so garbage, everything looked great/much better on pictures and rendering and I am saying this for all Ksegg cars...the interior material was soo cheap that I feel like fkn Audi uses better stuff...and guess what Christian's response to correct these damages was? Oh..well we'll have everything done at Platinum after Pebble.............and thats including a brand new interior....

ARE YOU fkIN stTIN ME WITH THAT??

From the get go I said to him, I understand Koenigsegg is a small company, and I am not trying to compare you to Buggati, but wtfo..would u be happy with that response. I tell you what Bugatti do in those instances even if it does happen, they fly in the EXACT people that spray the entire car, and do it at the dealership where the car is at.

So after Quail was the first time I get to drive the car....but just right before..Christian informed us that the car is not 100%...? I mean...u got how many months to work that out? How can it not be? I am the owner been waiting for ages and driving it for the first time? WTF are you smoking. There was not a black box update via the ODB port done yet was his answer, the ECU wasn't 100%, car had no ABS, Navi, Traction..I was like..uhhh okay... and the AC was soo st/weak I felt like I was in Dubai in the car in Pebble Beach with AC on full blast? No wonder no one there in Dubai wants any more of this junk..

My first impression of the car was banging outside, the inside..suck balls. Such a big drop off from seeing it pics, and you don't really relalize how out dated the interior actually looks, and I know I had specced it the way that would avoid that issue the best way I know how, but it still give me that feeling. And theres the instrument cluster that everyone talks about and look so banging on pictures, the entire thing is soo damn small, u cant see jack st in most of the stuff in there....I was like uhhhh this seriously looks like a mini video game stuff..it was at that point I finally come to grip with the notion that I haven't been able to accept in my mind before, the Agear is basically a facelift CCXs....which is not what any Agear owner would want I would assume right?

The car steering feels alright, precise enough, but didn't feel exotic one bit, the gearing was the worst I feel, it was soo off and way too long in every gear, but end of the day it still just feels like a heavily modified V8 engine.....which..isn't the feeling u want from a supposedly hyper car...the triplex suspension was good actually. The transmission was complete dogst, in low gear and low speed it feels just like an 04 Gallardo those of you driven it or owned one will know what I mean...i couldn't believe that. The car feels like a 400K car...

These are just some of the things I have kept completely quiet and been covering for Christian for the past 2 years...normally I wouldn't never allow this to happen, but I was willing to give him another chance to make it right and make it up to me starting from the end of Pebble...

so after Pebble, Christian kept saying oh another few months, the car will be passed by end of year...and that goes on.and...the car they without asking my preference decide to store it in Las Gatos in Northern California, which I had wanted the car to be kept at Symbolic with my man Marc Chase...so the few months after Pebble, I was like Christian what are you willing to offer me...and it turned into the usual Christian bs stalling back n forwth..and I was like..u fkin kiding me..this isnt a negotiation...I am fkin tryin to help you out...and after both sides have came to some sort of compensation parameter which I was very unsatisfied with, and I made this very clear to him at that point:

"If this goes any bit more south, or if I am still unimpressed with the car after whenever I finally get the chance to drive it 100% over a year waiting for it. Mark my words, I will make sure that you won't sell a single Agera car in the US, and I am willing to come out of my own pocket personally just to guaranteed that" ... You bet it was a threat 1000%, and I don't do promises I don't keep...unlike Christian...he is just the opposite

another few months went by....nothing... I was like ok..i want u to do these following for me....get a manufacture plate asap and have the car in my possession to drive until the car passses....and be the top sponsor on goldRush 5, and bring a demo car...his response..we can't do that..the cost associate with it is too large...and we only have one demo car and that car stays at the factory...I was like what kinda micky mouse company doesn't have a sales demo car? And i am still giving you another another another chance before I go full on BC ape st on your dumbass...the guy still just doesnt get it..I was doing him a favor.. He knows I was the very very few people that have both the AgeraR and the SS...and have no problem driving the balls out of them and go head to head with them, if the Agera does indeed outperform like Christian claims and believe in, that along is the single biggest marketing campaign in itself...he couldn't get it..

John Hill from Bugatti US fully understand what a passionate and influential happy owner can bring to the such a marquee brand, even tho I am still relatively young I have established a good sense of impact in the car community. Which I would do anything for John, and Bugatti. They have treated me so well, beyond my highest expectation when I first bought my 08 Veyron. Christian again..can't see that, and couldn't comprehend the fact that I will be buying Bugattis for the rest of my life, it could be Koenigseggs too....

and in the end...I was 95% sure I will be seeking a full refund plus compensation..I told Christian, lets send the car to a track for me to take it out for at least a whole day at 100% finally maybe if the car is indeed that impressive might be the slightest chance to chance my mind...and also to Symbolic service that was where the SS was at the time to photograph both cars together....and that retard start going off about..ohh whos going to cover the insurance...and I should pay for the cost associate with the transport....I was like...seriously? Seriously? How big of a fkin moron are you. It was at that point, in November, I told him to give me my damn money back and plus more....

Of course we started negotiation about the refund and compensation, another typical bs n stall process went on for a few weeks. I told him I understand they are a small company, so I will give them 4 weeks to do the full refund...first wire didn't even come in till the 2nd week...it took them 2.5 months total to refund me just over 1MM USD...of course filled with all sorts of typical Christian excuses and bs and what not... that in itself also just shows you how cash strap and a joke of an operation Koenigsegg really is..

Beyond everything else factual wise, it was just the lack of sincerity and effort I have felt all along the way, especially during the last few months that make me have no regret making my experience public for the automotive world....

Koenigsegg is at a point where no swedish banks are willing to give them new loans, they have had to keep on taking on new investor; I know the guy that made the Redline Movie was in the contract phase of buying the majority of the company years ago for 10MM...at their rate now, I see the company going bankrupt in the next 5-8 years given any miracle moves...and which is very sad...but that is the truth...and facts don't lie.

What a berk. hehe

Thank you!!! I wonder how many here would truly be willing to bend over and accept that kind of treatment on any automobile - much less one with such an astronomical price.

Are there really car enthusiasts posting here? I sometimes wonder?

This thread might do better in the Ferrari/Lambo/whatever forum where at least a few people have an idea of what it means to spend this kind of money on a supercar.

Did he really say "it feels like a 400k car" in a derogatory way?

What a strap-on.
That depends on what context you put it in.

If you're spending $1.5m dollars on a car, like this BC chap has, and it feels like a $400k car I see no problem in using an analogy like that. It should feel like $1.5m....

He's not using the analogy to imply that 400k is chump change - he's pointing it out for relativity.

This.

His tone may not be what you'd stereotypically expect but if I'd spent that kind of money on a car, I'd expect to rightly be as hacked off as he is.

Not doubting the facts, but deciphering them from the rest of the drivel is like trying to extrapolate meaning from a Linkin Park song.

Anyway, leaving aside PH's penchant for enforcing language standards that Stephen Fry would fall foul of, it really does sound like BC got the seriously crappy end of the stick with this car. Rich guy problems or not, that must be all kinds of infuriating and disappointing. I know I'd be more than a bit pissed off if I'd laid down 7 figures for a lemon too - I'd say he did remarkably well to bite his tongue for as long as he did. Hell, I laid down $50k for a lemon last year and still bitterly resent it.

As for the Drive videos, I enjoyed bits of them, but they did have a very strong whiff of paid advertising / PR to them. Might as well have been released by CvK himself.

As for L4P, each to their own, Erik said it far more eloquently than I'll bother to, but there's a few really decent guys on there I know via other forums. It's not my kind of forum at all but it's not all dyslexic teenage wannabes desperately trying to fellate the rich kids either. It's like a more youthful, American PH hehe

There are ways to conduct yourself.

On first impression, Luxury4Play seems to be a giant repository of bad taste, where hanger-on sycophants compete to inflate the egos of the moneyed ignorant - who, in turn, are competing with other price-of-everything/value-of-nothing types to see who can most comprehensively ruin cars. Crass doesn't cover it.

I'm sure they're all really nice people though - two nations divided by a common language and all that.
