The Truth about Koneigsegg?
Discussion
I think a lot of manufacturers can sympathize with K'Segg on this one. Sometimes a client comes along and bases their entire opinion of your operation on past experiences with other more simplistic/larger operations...they want everything ASAP, despite the time intensive, bespoke nature of the project. It's the reason they chose you in the first place, and you can't remind them of that for fear of a 'toys out of the pram' situation.
It is a strange market when a spoilt child of a man can decide the future of what many consider to be a very special marque.

It should be this way.
It seems however that in the UK, having money automatically buys you
disrespect from most of those that do not have money.
I find that nearly every country treats someone with money completely differently, having been out in a Ferrari in both the UK and Italy the reaction to the car is so different. It seems however that in the UK, having money automatically buys you
disrespect from most of those that do not have money.
In the UK, you can see some people that want to look at the car, but try not to(maybe they feel that by looking at the car, it will inflate your ego) then you get others that use some seriously derogatory words as you drive past. Whereas in Italy, it was completely the opposite, you have people actually applauding and cheering at you and just fawning over the car and congratulating you for being able to afford one.
In the US, you find that if you have money, you gain some serious brown nosers(it's actually rather cringe worthy).
Just to add, I don't actually own said Ferrari's, it was just kind offers of being taken out in them(although I hope that one day I will be able to afford one, but a Diablo might have to come first )

It was loads faster, wasn't it?
I'm not too keen on the colour scheme on that one though, I prefer the red one in this video:

The most fking annoying car video ever! Why the fk couldn't they just line them up, do a proper start and now this stupid thing, one is racing, the other isn't, then the other way round and again and again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es6C9-Ms194&fea...

They wasted such a great opportunity having both of those cars available,
And I'm sorry but I won't believe in Veyron's defeat seeing its driver! And I love all Koennigseggs! - He probably wasn't even pressing the throttle pedal fully while the Agera's driver was in full attack mode.
I'm gonna wait until they have them both at the Unlim 500+ in Russia...
From the Bugatti guys perspective.

Honestly, if you love Koenigsegg as much as you say do you would be bothered by the Unlim 500 lads ran a Koenigsegg with 800 hp and let on that it had three different hp ratings of which none were the correct one. The truth is both cars has been tested by SportAuto who found the Veyron to be just a tad bit faster than the CCX so it's more than a bit bizarre to read all these conspiracy theories from fans and "respected" publications in this case when they so willingly jumped on the bandwagon in that case.
Reminds me of the whole EVO debacle that Pagani set up where Koenigsegg weren't allowed to run on Cup tyres and the factory Ring settings like the rest of the field which gave results between the two unlike any of those who'd been done previously in Top Gear and SportAuto where Koenigsegg had come out on top in the CCR and CCX line compared to their Pagani analogues. This sham of a test - which provenly made no sense at all - was then repeated as truth by fans and media completely ignoring and undermining the results by TG and SA until years later when Pagani are caught red-handed cheating with racing slicks on TG.
Koenigsegg has been given such a raw deal despite being dominant with the agreed upon benchmarkers in two generations, you'd think you as fan would welcome that they finally got an opportunity to cut out the politics again...

On a recent charity drive to the Arctic circle and Nordkapp (in open Morgans!! - www.drivenatheart.co.uk) we were lucky enough to have dinner with Christian and his wife and have a personal guided tour around the Koennigsegg factory. We also saw the actual car in question at the factory.
Firstly let me say that I am in no way (barring a lottery win) a potential customer. However my lasting impression of the car and the man behind it was one of passion and engineering excellence. Very similar to the Pagani factory which I have also been lucky enough to tour with Horacio (and mainly his son) as tour guide.
CvK came across as very knowledgable, honest ( on a couple of occasions he had no answer or a negative answer to questions about the cars - where he could have easily BS'd his way through) passionate to the n'th degree and humble. I particularly asked him about this situation which had just come up on PH before we left, and again his comments were open but humble and straightforward.
I cannot of course make too many statements on what actually happened as I have only spoken to one side, but as always in life there are obviously two sides. And having read what I have and gleaned all the information by reading this (and other) posts I am pretty clear which side of the fence I am on and whose account I really believe.
Lastly having looked at the car pretty closely (though not inspected with a fine tooth comb) I can honestly say that in the opinion of a few of us who looked closely the paint finish looked superb! Without even needing to take into account the Matt finish.
From what I saw I really do wish CvK and Haldora and everyone at Koennigsegg all the best and long may they continue. They (along with Pagani, Morgan, Aerial etc) will always struggle to deliver against the big boys and do amazingly well to even compete. Without what they do, we would be deprived of variety and focussed soulful cars!
