Great video Chris, really enjoyed it.
Any reason why the Audi made you go all Somerset?! hehe
So the numb Turbo gets replaced by something with electric steering. Should Pork fans be worried?!

Ace video, would have liked to see more footage of them on the road, but I understand the need to remain relatively legal.

Surely though, the 997 Turbo S was not "Porsche's fastest", that must be a title reserved, currently, for the 997 GT2 RS?

As seen here, driven by a lunatic

Definitely the Audi for me (unless I needed four seats).

.
Air brake.

What are the two vertical circular cut-outs on the GTR back seat? Cup holders for when you're pressing on?

Pretty sure they are part of the subwoofer...

Litchfield - Where no-one can hear you scream.
I loved it when he laughed coming out of a corner, before his face suddenly went all serious as the next one came up. laugh

Loved the video, perfect b/g to midweek pizza smile Not sure it's quite fair, as no mention of warranty implications: you'd expect Pork & R8 to perform similarly at 60k miles with mfct backup, not sure a 50% added power GTR would be quite so 'everyday'. This vid & recent EVO test may explain why the R8+ was 'sub optimal' at SMMT day wink Fronts wrecked=too much understeer (trail brake helped but not ideal everywhere on hill route!)...

Highlight was the quality of the video itself and the madness of the GT-R......the other two cars were just a bit dull in comparison. Primarily because they've been around so long even if the R8 has been updated.

OMG great vid

REALLY great!!

Refreshing even

The Audi gets my vote

For sheer speed of course I'd be heading for the modded GTR............, but for enjoyment....., Audi....that noise..those looks.......yes

Had a drive in a V10 manual not long ago and if this is equal or better, I'm sold

The 911 looks good, really great, but the lack of character kills it.

Looking for a car which brings a smile to my face the most

I agree, Audi wins

The only word for that, is Batst. Seriously.

F1 car does it in 4 flat. With a perfect launch.

I have always been a fan of CH but have had concerns of a bit of a lack of impartiality towards a certain product from Stuttgart.

This video has happily proved me wrong.

Awesome smile

Wonderful watch. This is the kind of thing that should replace Top Gear when everyone has finally had enough of it.

Porsche all day for me but would have to spec better seats, just awful looking things like out of Halfrauds. The Audi and Datsun also have them for some reason..

Didn't he say fastest 4WD Porsche? GT2RS is RWD.

Interesting that Chris perceived the GTR as being too big when in fact the R8 is slightly wider (1895 vs 1930) ...

GTR maybe feels large because the road appears to narrow because of the sheer speed of the thing !!

Well that has already happened. Topgear made the same mistake EVO did. They thought that the online format is erroding their core business of selling a magazine. The media kept on moving and they didn't. Topgear also worked against watching the programme outside of the UK.

The saddest part was getting sent a DVD-R video from EVO at the end of the year like something a company would do 15 years ago to launch a product.

He probably did and I missed it. They are both excellent cars. I had ride in a 996 Turbo S and that was a serious eye opener, I can only wonder at what the 997 S is like with another 70bhp.

I am still bemused as to why he didn't include a remapped 335d on the test?
