I hate private plates, but that ones quite funny.

However, the joke wears thin quite quickly and I would worry that it could insite vandalism.
Why do you "hate" a bit of plastic?
If I wrote "You're a " on a piece of paper and put it through your letterbox, would you hate the piece of paper?

I hate private plates too. I love plastic though. Does that confuse you? It shouldn't because one's a synthetic material and the other's a value judgement based on personal opinion.

So... I typed into google "personalized plates, yes or no?" then I clicked on Chris' post..
I agree wholehearted with Chris on many points. In my opinion plates that are spaced a little tacky, or attempt to spell D4 NNY! don't look great. Why would you want to annouce yourself every time you pop out to the supermarket. That said, if it floats your boat, that's what matters and as long as you're not actually an Ar5e/not a decent person, then that's fine. An old plate on a classic car look great, or at least it does if you let your guard down and don't associate it with the negative thought that says, he/she is trying to be flash? Personalized plates say so many things. He/she is very conscious of their image. He/she has money? He/she likes to be seen and heard. My current dilemma is this.. I've just took delivery of a very nice car indeed. It took me a few months to decide on the make, the model, the colour, the engine, the styling, the practicality of it, the interior spec, what it says about me. But I don't get the choice of the plate, right? a part that is very noticable and that a lot of people look at. I'd be fibbing if I said I hadn't been thinking.. hmmm..? shall I get a personalized plate. I'm a bit flash? I like things to be neat and tidy (which I think a p plate does on a car) we spend ALOT of time considering our cars.. Yet you don't get a choice on the plate itself, not until you consider buying one for yourself? if we spend 3 months on deciding what car to buy.. why shouldn't we then decide what plate goes on the car, it makes perfect sense! that said.. p plates will always be viewed by the majority of people as that person is trying to be a tad elite, or just flash or just flaunting the fact that they can spend hundreds if not thousands of pounds on something that most people don't care about, or would rather use that money on far better things.. Personally? I worry too much about what other people think of me in the car if it had a plate on it. Which is a shame, as I'd choose a good/neat one.. not mess with it and it would certainly look a dam site better than the plate i was given.. which in short resembles bl0w j0b in my eyes! if you've got this far..! let me know your thoughts? I promise not to be too sensitive smile

As an aside (and without reading all 52 pages of this thread I shall assume that the general consensus is that I'm probably a colossal show-off with a tiny member, both of which are true biggrin ) here are some pictures of various of my daily drivers from the last few years. All have been taken from other web pages as I never seem to take photographs myself anymore........

(Thank you to the original posters)

My plate makes me smile and I know that it does the same for others too. That's good enough for me.
Hi there! I only joined just to let you know that the Norfolk Mustard Lotus Esprit GT3 from your picture is sat in my garage! Yes, that very same motor. She's missed you too!
