The entire point of a Skyline is to go fast.

As the new one goes much faster then how is the older slower one worth anything like the same amount ?

In 100 years I'll agree that a 100yr R35 might be worth the same as a 105yr R34 but right now realistically it's worth (ie what you could get at auction) less than £20k
You don't think this will sell for 50k? If it sells for 50 its worth 50
No I don't and no it doesn't.

If I sell a fool a £1 coin for £10 it doesn't make it worth £10 - it means I found a sucker.
This is not currency that doesn't apply, how do you define the worth of anything?
What is the DB4 that sold for 3 million worth it? did some sucker buy that? some sucker with 3 million? that type of sucker?

How much would an unused delivery mileage FD7 fetch?

I know what won't be worth loads in future: R35 GTR Gentleman Edition. Not quite as cool as a Z Tune laugh

Another vote for the r33. Best looking of the lot imo. Although it would seem not many people would agree.

This is a topic that could go on for years..

I think the R32 GTR is great as it will always be remembered as the japanese underdog that could humiliate a Ferarri or Porsche in the late 80's not to mention being on many a young lads poster in his bedroom as a kid..

The R33 GTR.. the more modern, sleak design with looks ahead of its time.. Favoured by most as the in between.. not as old looking as an R32 GTR but i cant afford an R34 GTR so the R33 GTR sat perfect with many.

Then R34 GTR came along and blew everyone away.. has never really dipped in price lower than £20k due to its rareity and how ahead in technology it was than any other car in 1999. It will always be the pinnacle in my eyes to ever wear the GTR badge.. also the fact that Paul Walker loved this car and owned one.

I think the R34 has aged well tbh, yet the R35 to me is a bit of a question mark car..

Wears the GTR badge yet doesnt have the legendary RB engine.. Its not manual, Its basically as close to being a Skyline as Subaru is to an Evo..

Yes its an amazing car and the technology in the R35 is unmeasured at this time but i just dont get excited when i see one or sit in one.. feels like the millenium falcon.. buttons, electronics, flashing lights and you neeed to have a system to get it offthe line.. i just dont like how cars are becoming as the years go on..

I think the R34 GTR is one of them cars where you see one go past or parked up and you get instant arousal.. that is a real car. Whereas the R35 you respect because of what its capable of.. but I would have my R34 anyday over most cars on this earth due to how i see it, and how it makes me feel when im behind the wheel.

I also had a Supra TT6 and a Single turbo Supra 6sp and i see them too, as cars you just never ever believe exist.. there just unbelievable.

Great post. I find myself in agreement with a lot you say. The R35 is amazing in ability, but I have such a soft spot for the 34.

Is there anything you miss about the Supra in comparison to your 34? The only thing I've heard mentioned is a Supra *may* have a more bullet proof engine. No idea if this is true or not.

Performance wise the bulletproofness of Jap hipo engines seem to be so much better than the Brit and Jap equivalents.

Worth every penny. It won't be long before you'll have to fork out £35-40k for any R34 GTR in good nick, they're genuinely iconic cars that are incredibly rare and sought after - and IMO they are the lookers of the Skyline range.

The R32 GTR is a great car, and my second favourite and by the looks of the previous posts it has a lot of other fans too, but it just doesn't share the same iconic status as the R34 (if they did, they wouldn't be £10k).

The R33 has never really done it for me, whilst clearly being a fantastic car it's just another generation, an improvement in tech & performance over the previous model but nothing special, certainly not got the future classic status of the R32 & R34.

The R35 I don't even class in the same group, it's just a modern performance car. Incredibly good at what it does, but over-produced and has none of the excitement of the previous models. These will continue to drop and drop in prices, much lower than any of the Skylines - whereas I genuinely believe an R34 in this condition could soon be worth upwards of £65-80k. Why not?

The demand of these 90/00's turbo modern classics continues to rise, with more and more people looking for standard Subaru's and Evo's for collections and weekend toys - it's just simple supply and demand. This is a £50k car all day long IMO.

R33 for me as well. Particularly in NISMO form or the rare LM edition

I would love an R32 and an R34. Don't they rev to 9,000 or something crazy?

8250 I think for a standard R32 (with factory map). It depends on the power really.

I find the R33 incredibly bland. The R32 GTR has the lean, mean looks, particularly in grey, while the R34 has superior mechanicals. The R33 in non-GTR trim just looks like any run of the mill Japanese saloon.

I agree the 34 is the one headed north in value, all due to the playstation generations. The 32 may well be important, but it does not have that computer game following.

Paul Walker effect rather than playstation generation imo the latter like me have dabbled with them for years but prices have dropped up steadily up to 2008 and then rapidly up to about 18 months ago, since then they rocketed, the weaker yen has helped with imports as well.

I bought my R34 GTT for £4600 needing a little work and sold it within a year for £9600

My R33 GTST have a Mines ECU which lifted that a bit - it didn't end well in the long run biggrin

You have to rev a RB26 more than a RB25
