RE: BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe
Discussion
It looks HUGE and a bit American - Buick style.
I stopped liking BMW styling when they made the "kidney" (ha!) grilles into facsimiles of a pair of wall-mounted radiators. Maybe they should start calling them liver-shaped grilles?
Whatever happened to compact BMWs? I lament their passing.

i like the rear
the rest doesnt work for me, an improvement on the majority of the BMW range.
but that is no complement, as i feel they have lost the design direction. especially the 1 series
new BMW 4 series coupe looks good though, as they have the proposrtions right. as well as getting the right blend of agression and style

That rear window has the miniscule flying buttresses of the Peugeot 406 Coupé by Pininfarina.

Overall not bad, but it just reminds me that whereas BMW is king for 2 and 4 door saloon cars, it never really managed to create great big coupes and sportcars. 8-series, 6-series (even the E24, to be honest) have never been the first choice in their segment in the same way as the 3/5/7 series. Going back, even legends like the 507 and the M1 were somehow disappointing compared to their competitors.
Maybe it's just DNA...
Good effort anyway!

Then this abomination? Not a chance! Even if I could afford it...

That's what they probably said about this 'breadvan' on its debut...
For a large crossing continents vehicle - would do the job really well IMHO
Agree on the front end looking like something out of Cars - though that will change for production as do all prototypes.

Nice car wasted by that stupid grill BMW have across their ranges!
I just can't believe that they, 'BMW' would constantly design the whole front of their cars around such a boring design feature.

Yeah, no other manufacturer contantly builds their cars around a boring grill eh I just can't believe that they, 'BMW' would constantly design the whole front of their cars around such a boring design feature.

Most of the grilles are quite successful. BMW have been stretching their grille like a pre-pubescent schoolboy stretches his w*lly to try and impress the girls. I mean the keynote of the grille was twin kidneys and all it is now is a shapeless grille with a divide in the middle. Am I wrong? All IMHO.
