I thought you were after a £500 shed.
I was looking for a cheap car for my daughter but I'm always looking for decent modified cars for me.

Generally sub £10k, I have no problem spending far less - eg bought my V8 Soarer for £500

I guess it must be one like this?

They are nice cars.
Considering I recently bought a 3.0 auto which is newer, a lot less miles, longer MOT and better condition for a whole £1 more (as discussed in this thread) I think he'll be lucky to get that price. Or I was lucky to get mine for £460.

I think you were lucky to get yours for that price TBH, although the prices do seem to vary quite a bit.

When I sold mine (2.0), I ended up giving it away, despite full service history, 2 owners and 70k miles...

Sadly, nobody seems to want them. They are a weird category of car, it's a large coupe but the 2.0 is not a grand tourer really (maybe the 3.0 is I don't know.

They are really well built though, and don't seem to suffer much (if any?) from rust.

£450 (or less with a haggle) for a 1995 Pug 106 with only 51K and a year's ticket?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

22 years old, bet that'd be cheapo insurance for a learner...

Add £150 - £200 for a full set of tyres and a few quid to properly sort the exhaust before it rots to bits and falls off!

Looks like they fixed the exhaust for its re-test and must have replaced the fronts as well (possibly with part-worns, but hey). Ah well, it's still got a certain old school charm, even if it is a Pug.

I might... she could do with going out more !

I bought the Soarer a few years ago and they were cheaper then, it was tidy but had the interior removed by the PO, I only bought it to remove the engine but life gets in the way and it's sat under my trees for years so looks a bit sorry for itself now - I start it occasionally as it sounds so nice - it WILL be going in my RX7 this year.

Hopefully

In a similar vein to the Pug - Fiat Uno with just 26k on it for £650. MoT history doesn't look too bad - no rot mentioned!

Motoring doesn't get any cheaper does it? Just don't have an angry shag up against the rear 3/4 panel. It requires a trip to the body shop to sort out paperbag

The Beemer has been off the road for five years before being MOt'd last month. It had an adivsory for an oil leak and rear brake pads.
The test was at 51995 miles.

2 previous owners (if you buy it)

DECLARED NEW - 17 February 1998
SOLD 2nd January 1999
SOLD 13th April 2007 (current owner)

In 2006, this car had 32125 miles. Over 10 years later it has done 20,000 miles more.

This car was probably sold at Scothall BMW Stanmore (now closed, replaced by Spire Borehamwood)

Any interest in a Fiesta 1.1 Kent, 1995 N plate, less than 60k on the clock? My father in law is taking the shock decision to actually sell a car which I don't think has ever happened before (he's got at least seven, and a couple of tractors, all mid-90s tat but he seems to like them!) since he just doesn't use it.

If anyone's interested I'll get some pics. Not that this is an advert or anything because that would be against the rules.

Super cheap MX-5 update.
Finally managed to get the car to work today to get it up in the air for a nosey underneath, I was a bit worried because you all said it would be knackered so the plan was to see how bad it was then make a choice as to if it would last through the summer as is or of too bad look at parting it out to get some money back.

It drove there perfectly, cruising on the motorway at the limit with no dramas. Got it up on the ramp and started digging around, I could not get a shot of the sills but they are perfect, no bubbles, no holes nothing, The frame rails have surface rust related to the car being seventeen years old but are rock solid!

I can find no sign of trouble ahead and now intend to buy some dinotrol and flood the box sections and sills to help preserve them.

Popped it onto the air con machine to see if I could get it working, it had 40 grams left in, not enough to fire the compressor but encouraging that it had anything left. It pulled down and held the vac perfectly and now has fully working, very cold A/C biggrin

What a great little car for next to no money! Roll on Spring biggrin
